One, that leads to a total route loss and a bad ending.

Two, IIRC Cari got so much flak from that that he promised not to add something like that ever again in his games moving forward.

Three...I don't even know if there's anyone in the game who could serve as an NTR antagonist. Axel? He pretty much promises to destroy you and the people you love because he thinks you offed Benjie (I mean you could argue that he could hire some goons to rape the girls in front of you, but I don't think he has that kind of influence or power). Thanatos? He's pretty much driven into finding the Gems of Doom and hardly spares any second thought on anything else (hell, he even outright ignored Orion when he stood up to him in Ekabar...and that's likely more to do with the latter not having a gem in his possession so the former just treated him as a nonperson). The Founder? Pretty much the same as Thanatos I think. Raul and Noah? Naaaah, they're more mercenaries and gag material. Plus they're cool with Orion. Kai? Eh, completely harmless unless you do absolutely nothing with him and Nancy. Jerry?

Hello everyone!

I sincerely hope everybody is doing great!

SHUT UP CARIBDIS AND GIVE US INFO

Okay okay

First of all, I'll talk about dates since it's what will interest some people the most.

You know that I only announce the definitive release dates for each tier a few days before the first official release to ensure there won't be any delays.

However, I can say that, right now, I'm aiming for the week of July 24. These last few scenes are taking me more time than I initially expected due to some complications, but if nothing stops me from maintaining my current progress during the next few weeks, I should be able to finish everything on time.

As you know, I like to release the update as polished and bug-free as I can, from the highest tier to the last!

About its content, you can expect several hours of new gameplay, with tons of different moments and scenarios. This update is probably the largest one so far. I'm currently sitting at 1190 renders, and I still have a few more to do. I estimate the final build will have over 1400 renders. The script is already past 10,000 lines of code as well!

There will be 4 new fully animated lewd scenes (as long as you're in all paths).

Who will be the lucky ladies, you wonder? Ah, you'll soon find out

Also, if you enjoy Eternum's story and its lore, you're in for a treat! Grab your crazy theory notes and start getting ready to immerse into Eternum once again

It doesn't really matter if there is actual explicit content of the girls with other men or not. You can already sense implications of that sort. It's already abundantly clear, in both games, that bad choices bring bad consequences for the girls.

Competition between men is a very present element in Caribdis' work. Remember James, Oliver, and the specific *way* that you are tormented in one of the bad endings, as well as some of the things Astaroth says to you. Not to mention the fact that one of your main love intetests is married to and mistreated by the ultimate antagonist! I'd say it's more present than I might feel from other works. Even Tom, while not really a *romantic* threat, is very much a physical/sexual threat.

We already have plenty of bad things happen to the girls if you choose poorly, including advances of other men portrayed *as* bad things. Penny strips for a lecherous abuser and is so distraught she renounces her whole dream. Annie has her heart shattered only for you to twist the knife by sending her a shirtless pic. Dalia, a self-reliant woman who already doesn't trust easily, is consummately betrayed, robbed of a special and precious place by people who have been horrible to her. Penny is betrayed and taunted by a social enemy. Then there's the advances of other men, portrayed as bad things: Dalia considers giving Jerry a chance. Nancy allows advances from the yoga instructor.

These outcomes are already bad enough, the message clear enough. It's inconsequential whether rape is used to dial it up even more, that's just sharper dressing on the same flavor.

NTR - stands for "Netorare," which is a Japanese term. Basically has 3 variations/flavors to it: Pure NTR, Netori, and Netorase.

As for the definitions of the terms, I'll just quote a reply I had a while back to someone asking the same question...


Edit: Just to add, the trouble with F95 tagging is that the NTR tag basically covers all three flavors, so sometimes there's confusion if a title is Pure NTR (the rage bait), Netori (for those who want to RP as a scum/Mister-Imma-steal-your-girl), or Netorase (the I'm-a-cuck-and-I-like-it route).

The F95 definition is:

• Netorare [Designed to cause jealousy by having the romantic interest involved with someone other than the MC.]

Yeah, but unlike a certain scenario in OIAL you don't really see anything extreme beyond the stuff you've mentioned (which are basically bad ends to LI routes). No scenario where we see Thanatos rape Nova and/or Alex and/or Caly in Ogygia, or going home only to see Nancy and Kai go at it like rabbits if we let them be, or Penny slowly falling from grace and becoming the one thing she vowed never to become - an Instagram whore - if we choose options that would corrupt her, or actually going through with selling Nova to that guy in Garrington's Casino. In other games it would be par for the course given this is still a porn game and all, but Cari is definitely showing some restraint with the bad route ends after the Lauren-Orochi shitstorm (for now, at least. Hopefully it stays that way, as promised).

Not to mention somewhat inaccurate because Netori is covered by that tag, and the player character there IS the scumbag who steals the girl, so I'm not sure how jealousy factors there...unless you make the argument that the Netori MC feels some sort of jealousy to the couple, hence his decision to absolutely ruin said couple's lives.

In other games it would be par for the course given this is still a porn game and all, but Cari is definitely showing some restraint with the bad route ends after the Lauren-Orochi shitstorm (for now, at least. Hopefully it stays that way, as promised).

I must have missed that - then again, I only did a couple of "bad endings" and I don't think I ever did anything deliberately that would have harmed the girls. Is it something he took out of the "final" version that's there now, or is it the result of a series of bad decisions/rejection decisions with Lauren?

Current worry is that someone who manages to snag the rights to the engine and assets might be a lot more aggressive in sending CnD orders to modders and indie VN makers who're currently using Illusion software for renders - Cari included. So...fingers crossed that that might not be the case or that that's not how things work and I'm just talking out of my ass or something.

Whelp, I couldn't read that, so what does this mean? Is this similar to an operating system no longer being supported by the developer?

Would be a worrisome scenario if some projects are halted, or abandoned altogether after this announcement. Wonder which people or company will pick up the pieces (and how much this will force some indie developers to change their current development plans, and if Caribdis will create contingency measures once he learns of this). Just a humble opinion from my part.
