And to answer poor Pedro's first question, Ready Player One is among those books.
Those intermediate versions like 0.8.5 are just the public versions compared to the initial release versions for the higher patreon tiers like 0.8. Most of the time they only contain small bug and typo fixes and maybe an additional render or two (but not this time as far as I know).Good evening guys, this is my first post on this forum since I signed up and I wanted to say first of all that this game is a masterpiece, the plot intrigued me from the beginning and when I downloaded this game I waited a bit to be able to play it completely, starting from version 0.8.5 that was published on this forum.
Now that I have finished the game (or at least, what has come out so far) I was wondering what the differences were between version 0.8.5 and version 0.8 that came out a few days ago from the developer's original Patreon. If there are differences, should I play from scratch with the official version made available on Patreon?
And off-topic, I saw that many people here in the comments have Eternum banners in their signatures, can I know if they have been published somewhere or are they made on request?

Does this mean that there is an Earth were the game is already finished? If the mutilverse exist that means theres an earth thats already playing 0.9.
Sorry about the late reply.Friends who speak Portuguese, is there a translation of the new update somewhere?
I believe mid may 2024 should have passed a few days ago... any updates?Thank you for an amazing game!
The official walkthrough seems very focused on showing choices only for an "optimal" path, without much specific information. So i created one that dives a bit deeper into those specifics... (see attachement)
20230803: Updated to v0.6
Note: All my walkthroughs are on hold till mid may 2024 (weekends are usually the time i write them & those are filled with training till then). Really annoying cause Eternum 7 is basically done, sorry.

You don't need that. v0.8.4 is outdated.Where can i download update v0.8.0 -> v0.8.4, there is no link anywhere, am i blind?
It is because of how the game is designed. There are many games that have larger updates yet they feel significantly shorter when you sit down and play the update.I'm amazed at how much content there is in 0.8. No wonder it took a while to come out. At first I thought the end of the content was going to come just after our hero got back from the pirate planet, then I thought it was going to come after, then I thought it was surely going to end after the dinner date with Annie, and then I thought it was going to end afterYou don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Branching is good on and off paper and the game would be objectively better if it had better branching (incentive to play non harem paths). And imo this is a very good decision that the developer made. While branching sounds nice on paper the reality is not many people are going to play the same thing more than once or twice.
I disagree but that may be because of personal preferences and my own playstyle. I cant be bothered to play the same story twice. Maybe it is different for others. I'd rather the dev spend 8 months making 4 hours worth of content for one path that I am going to play as opposed to him spending those 8 months making a bunch of different branches that would result in me spending just 1 hour per update.Branching is good on and off paper and the game would be objectively better if it had better branching (incentive to play non harem paths).
In my experience of games with branching, it also makes it almost impossible to produce a game that doesn't have lots of inconsistencies, because there soon become so many possible paths through it that it's all but impossible for the dev to correctly keep track of everything.Branching is good on and off paper and the game would be objectively better if it had better branching (incentive to play non harem paths).
There are only a few other games which are at the story quality of eternum and have branching and this is because implementing branching is hard and exponentially increases the development time each update leading to shorter updates or very long update cycles (you can guess what two games I'm talking about).
Therefore like you said it's a good decision for eternum to fully focus on branching path, it might make the game more of a kinetic novel (which removes the big part of being a VN in the first place and reduces replay value) but let's the author tell more compelling story which the player cannot influence but it will probably be better than any game developed by an indie dev trying to implement branching and a good story.
So branching isn't the problem it's the fact that these AVN devs are small ships and cannot manage to do it well.
