Have not seen any bad boy moments people speak of in the beginning. I suspect that the simpish whiteknight is just what Caribdis sees as an ideal.

The reason I play the game is the interesting world and well made sex scenes. The girls are progressive tropes, but luna and annie are pretty feminine and enjoyable.

I didn't place the bad boy moments in the beginning, and Dorf already brought some of them up. Now I'd emphasise that Orion has mixed motivations at the start, he wants to be rich and famous too, and couldn't be considered actively "simping" for a long while in several arcs, if you prefer that word for it.

But as he develops his powers and becomes more important, he shifts to more callous decisions (tho not Nancy-like manipulation) like threatening Aspen (not a sympathetic character herself though) and even gets inconsiderate to potential LIs. He can try to amplify his fame and notoriety with an edgy nickname ("The Huntsman" by default) too.

But if Orion's behaviour is so annoying to you, why don't you write more about the positives for you? Be the change you want to see in the world. Venting your views a few times is fine, but staying on repeat is an action that invites negative reactions, that can capture you in a cycle of negativity. To give you something to work with, Luna's coincidentally my favourite LI and I rank Annie pretty highly, while I find the mystery of Orion's origin, the identity of his mother, and the nature of Eternum engaging plot points, and I'm drawn to their characterisations.

Like written before, I don't criticize genuinely good behavior. I'm allergic to buttering girls up with compliments/kindness to get sex. Because I dislike the sucking up to them and because its dishonest.

In addition to that, MC in that scene tried to improve her self-esteem, which is fine if its done with pure intention (which is questionable as he isnt concerned with changs or micaelas selfesteem). Its also sucking up to her, because if he had a spine he would tell her that NOBODY cares about her stupid weightlifting. Even fitness thots are aware enough to know that the only reason they lift is keeping their body attractive. He would also tell her that continuing kickboxing will make her look like a pitbull and that, YES, men care about her looks and couldn't care less about her kickboxing. That 80% of the reason any guy cares about anything she does is that she is hot af. Giving her a dose of reality would be a genuine show of benevolence instead of telling her what she likes to hear and let her continue with her idiotic endeavours that will bring her absolute nothing - a girl fretting over a weightlifting competition kek. Does she wanna look like micaela? Everyone aside chang sees her as a freak, including MC. He should tell her that. That would be honest for once. And it would put her at ease at the same time.

TLDR: We can't have good things because men lack the spine to tell girls that what they are doing is prime stupid.

This is not a battle, fellow internet user. We just talk about an interesting aspect of a fictional character. I have no intention to move the goalposts. I'm conversing in good faith and I think there was a prior situation where I realized you were right and said so.
I havent reached the Nova scene yet. Didn't he just give maat and penelope what they wanted? Fucked maat hard? I dont remember well, but didn't penelope do the "I say I'm not sure, although I really really want you to go further"-thing? I think the one moment where Caribdis tried to make MC act like a bad boy was the Alex pen compliment at the very beginning - although it seemed very try hard.

Simps/whiteknights may mean what they say, but the reason they do it is not genuine kindness but an exchange - kind words in hopes for sex. So I agree, its not really lying but still dishonest. Because they don't give that kindness to non-hot women. So they are at least subconsciously calculating.

If a guy is nice to a girl just because, I wont complain. (Ripples MC does that sometimes.) Nor will I complain if a guy purely wants sex and doesn't hide it in slimy words.

I agree, I also wouldn't tell a new friend what to do - if he's a guy. But MC doesn't want dalia as a friend, he wants her as a girlfriend, and contrary to popular showing in progressive movies and such, if a girl is into you, which dalia obviously is, they like being told what to do, and they especially like a guy who is not afraid to tell them what they don't wanna hear - as it shows them he will be honest in everything and that they can really actually trust him. Girls still like dominant masculine guys imo, even if they say otherwise when asked. As the saying goes: Dont listen to what they say, look at what they do. lol

MC is not simping in every single situation, in that japanese concubines scene he was just merely a weakling for not doing what he wanted. But he still simps a lot imo. And in a sense he kinda simped for the two japanese chicks, as he would have abandoned important matters to have sex with them.

Until just recently every man knew that "no" many times means "yes" if shes attracted to the guy, and thats how Caribdis used it here. MC just did exactly what she wanted. A home truth is only a home truth if it's a truth. There are female Olympic weightlifters and kickboxers who don't look like pitbulls, so no Dalia wouldn't "look like a pitbull" just from that. Unlike Orion, "every man" couldn't reliably that a woman was attracted to him, especially if he was a narcistic fuckboy. And this isn't the place to recap the western legal history of rape, but "no" generally meant "no" and actual trials involved the limitations of evidence and bias to status and reputation (fama and infamia, in particular). But RETVRN mythlore always ignores factors other than gender.

About Maat, he could fuck her hard and then fuck her over then some by stealing her credits. She reappears in 0.8 if you did. Not that you should sympathise with her, but that isn't simpish. And if he doesn't simp all the time, we can wonder if he simps most of the time, if he's really a "GigaSimp", or if "simp" really captures his core personality in the first place. Considering the totality of the evidence, including Annie and Luna's arc that I mentioned before...

Anyway, in these posts you continued to prioritise your gender ideology over the relevance of these actions for the plot, characterisation, and Caribdis's vision for Eternum. I suggest you write more about your likes, regular readers either know or can guess your dislikes now.

That's because, for these kinds of games, most of the time they are high schools. They're just presented as universities so they can say all the characters are 18+ so it's totally okay. Seriously, next time you play one of those games try pretending it's a high school and everyone is 15 or 16 and see how much more sense it makes, both for writing and for the character design.

That's a fair remark and I didn't name specific "bad" games, but one I was thinking about was WVM where the university college setting is central, and the sorority trope is a poor fit for a high school. But I'll try your high school swap next time.

Though the purpose of that text was more as an intro for praising things that are done well in Eternum.

With the amount of slaying he gets in, probably Achilles, though looks like Thanos could file a complain with Caribdis about the amount of pussy or bussy he gets in comparison.

Honestly don't see Lorelei getting one now. Orion is now fully devoted to his girls and storywise, even flirting with the waitress was a bad end in last update. My prediction is either we'll see a full bad end with Orion getting killed by Annares(?) if he goes for her or he'll reject her advances to score heart point and a scene with Calypso

Yeah, that's actually a good point. The first 3 updates were about building the harem, and that was finished as soon as Calypso was introduced into the story. Every update since has been about Orion developing deeper connections to his girls. The last side girl scene that wasn't Calypso was, once again, all the way the heck back in 0.3. And you also make a good point with how, even if Orion wasn't loyal to his girls, he'd have a hard time slipping a scene with Lorelei past General Arannis. I mean, think about the fact that Arannis is already extremely racist against humanity for no reason other than just because, and also the fact that even though he knew him for less than 5 minutes in 0.8, Arannis already decided that he hated Orion. Now, think about what he'd do if Orion, who is a human he hates, then tried to get with Lorelei, his own daughter. I really don't like that guy tbh. General Arannis just seems like a racist asshole to me. He's like a deadly version of Charles Miner from The Office.


Overall, you make sense, and you're probably right. That said, it's still fun to theorize! Plus, it's unlikely, but still possible that Lorelei might get a scene. I mean, really, what else could Calypso and her be talking about here?

Because (and this is simply my recollection of events so someone correct me if I'm wrong) once upon a time the english publisher of HS1 (FAKKU) decided to screw over Harem Hotel's dev (Runey) by having Patreon take down his page for copyright infringement (something about Runey not having the right to use HS1 as a rendering tool for his game). Runey noted that the likely reason for this was because FAKKU was throwing a tantrum because he asked permission from Illusion (the actual devs of HS1) if he could use their game for his renders instead of asking FAKKU (who felt slighted by the move since they're the english publisher and somehow they feel that they should be the ones to be asked permission since they assumed Runey was using the english version of the game to make Harem Hotel). So Runey asked Illusion again if FAKKU's tantrums had merit, and they responded by saying that dev has the right to create game but under no circumstances are they allowed to SELL or DISTRIBUTE game to any storefront* as that would be a violation of their copyright. Runey eventually got his Patreon page back, and thus the policy of HS1/HS2 made AVNs being distributed for free (and development funded by sites such as Patreon and/or Subscribestar) instead of being sold was set. Eternum included.

Granted Illusion has been dead for a long while now, but it's likely that whoever has the rights to HS1 and HS2 also stand by their stance of having AVNs using their renders be distributed for free and not sold. Coz JP and JP usually don't deviate from policy coz traditions and shit.

*Itch.io doesn't really fall under this since games are being distributed for free there and "payment" usually comes in the form of donations to the dev rather than being a purchase of the game

This sounds roughly accurate, but I remember that Fakku's involvement started when some people contacted them about it, there was "someone" (trying to get it banned) in that discussion who was angry about Honey Select devs' "cheating" to get images faster than Daz3d devs too.

But yeah, that's the story why games like Eternum aren't sold on Steam.

Well, I'm playing the two extremes: the "Eunuch" path and the "Harem" path.

The "Eunuch" path is for playing the pure story. It's interesting to know what the essential quests are, but so far, the result is always the same! What both paths have in common is that Nancy mentions on the ship, in conversation with Ed and Morty, that they're a team, and later Orion on the island thinks he has to trust the girls.

Fact 1: Calypso doesn't appear on the first overview page, but rather among the side girls!
Fact 2: There is no calypso_points variable, only a calypso_interest variable.

For me, it will be very interesting in EP 9 to see how the two paths will differ. That Orion will emerge is certain, but how. And Lorelei will probably have different versions, depending on score and relationship to Calypso.

The update will reveal that!
