Song names in order:Considering their time frame, they did extremely well. Explains why I can't find the name of the songs.
Wonder if someone's gonna make a mod adding them back...For some strange reason I felt that sooner or later this would happen...usually this happens to many of some Avn's because of the license...
although I'm sure many have already managed to save these tracks thanks to Eternum and even became partially famous!
Probably. You can also just rename & replace the filesWonder if someone's gonna make a mod adding them back...
yeah, the two songs for MC's visit to Luna's uncle during the day of the dead. they are replaced by "lunadodd" and "lunadoddins".There probably is at least one other dual song that got changed into a single song, since there were 4 removed tracks (pilgrim1, pilgrim2, riofluye, riofluyeb), I don't really have an idea on how to change those, unless I also revert back the origina script to play both songs, which seems possible since caribdis splits his scripts per episode anyways. The only minor concern with that is that if he ever updates the script to fix something. I mainly just wanted to throw out the first edition rather quick so that it was still available.
That would also bring the count back up to what it should be
36 in /music, 11 in music/08, +2 for pilgrim1/2, +2 for riofluye(b), 51 total
however, one thing I'm scared of if I have to start involving the actual scripts, is that it might screw over compatibility with any other mods.
That would definitely be possible if our good old multimod creator LightmanP would want to incorporate the music restoration mod into their mod. Then there wouldn't be compatibility issues since they already alter the scripts, so having pilgrim1, pilgrim2, riofluye and riofluyeb play in their original locations would be easy enough.
I will however update the mod and add those 4 files in their original locations, to make it easier incase LightmanP does want to incorporate it into their mod, which I am completely OK with
that guy in the quote above already didWonder if someone's gonna make a mod adding them back...
LightmanP uses custom script.rpy files for the multimod already, i asked him whether he could implement the music restoration in his mod since then we can just use the old script5.rpy and script7.rpy.yeah, the two songs for MC's visit to Luna's uncle during the day of the dead. they are replaced by "lunadodd" and "lunadoddins".
for the two "pilgrim", you could just add them back to back in a single file and rename it as the new file. in the code, Caribdis just queues them anyway, so it would be the same.
Totally agree. Although given the time frame they did amazing job. Hopefully they take some feedback and tweak some of the not so great replacements in futureA real shame about the music change. It sucks when an artist can't create their vision the way they want to due to limitations like this. But after a quick play-through to check out the notable changes (the background music changes arguably went unnoticed), Caribdis did a pretty good job at finding suitable replacements for most of them. I'd even argue that there is one or two that are even better than the original. But unfortunately there are the same number where the original is just too good to find a replacement for, making the new one pale in comparison.

I unfortunately couldn't find the name for any of the new songs. I might have to type in the lyrics on some of the liscensed music sites to find them. Or if someone already has, listing them would be a big help.
Can't the files just be extracted, then renamed to the same file name as their replacements - so we can just drag and drop them into the audio folder with each new release? Seems easier to do that than store 0.8.5 for eternity.Kinda easy to grab all the songs from the old files though. Although I understand that not everyone got a 16to HDD to keep all the old versions of their favorite VNs (or want to make the necessary changes themselves). I still have all Eternum versions back to v0.3 personnally (when I started playing it) and ain't no way I'm replaying Eternum without the songs we got used to
I do hope that someone better and less lazy than me do the work for the future versions still![]()
Yeah, some people works fast. Can't the files just be extracted, then renamed to the same file name as their replacements - so we can just drag and drop them into the audio folder with each new release? Seems easier to do that than store 0.8.5 for eternity.
EDIT: Never mind - I jumped the gun before reading on.
I have done this. It should now fully restore all 51 tracks, and it should be compatible with LightmanP's mod whether he changes his script to the new version or keeps the old versions, as I've added the 4 that were removed back, but also added them under their new names. Slightly bigger file size, but to create smooth compatibility I figured it would be worth it.yeah, the two songs for MC's visit to Luna's uncle during the day of the dead. they are replaced by "lunadodd" and "lunadoddins".

If I got your question right, then yes.Eternum/game/archieve.rpa contains every single video as a short .webm.To extract them, you can use Unren.Once you're done, you will find them in game/images/videoDumb question - are there specific video files for the scenes that can be pulled out and edited within the folder structure. Poking through the thread, it seems like maybe not, but if so, let me know where I should be looking. Thanks!
