I see we are back on the cringe who is and isn't a virgin debate. This will probably go on between every chapter at this rate.

I personally believe both Alex and Penny are both virgins, based on what I seen and read in game.

If you think otherwise cool, I am not going to debate you, I am not going to argue you, I have what I think and my headcanon and you have yours. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter, whether they are or aren't, so go with whatever you think best, cause its clear no one can agree, and people try to say they are right 100%, when they themselves don't know either and trying to push their own canon onto others without explicit knowledge. Just believe what you want cause it does not matter.

Can't wait to rehash this while discussion on this topic in a few months time.

I don't know about "throughout the game," but she certainly says as much at Hogwarts (excuse me, Warthogs). Does she know this from experience? Or is this perhaps something she likes the idea of but hasn't experienced?

Alex also projects a "tough girl" image, but she's a romantic at heart, even if she may not realize it herself. This could be another false front she puts on.

Nova's scene proves this meaningless as an indicator.

And for both of them, there's a question of "with whom?" Penny's only had one boyfriend, only for a few weeks, not very serious. They could have had sex, but not enough to explain her "know[ing] way too much about her sexual preferences." That could have come from a series of hookups, but she takes umbrage at the suggestion that she's promiscuous.

Alex? She's a loner by choice, almost no friends, can't really imagine her having a boyfriend. Hookups have the same problem as with Penny.

So you're drawing inferences from clues, like the rest of us. But some of us are giving greater weight to other clues that point in the other direction--because those are there too, and if you've been following the discussion, you've seen reference to some of them. This isn't a matter of people just not reading the dialogue; it's a matter of people interpreting and weighing the dialogue differently than you do.

I'm not a hardliner either way, but I don't think it's nearly as obvious as you seem to think it is.

My ego wants me to keep responding to this, but I made it clear (if you read my earlier dialogue ) that this topic is not worth that kind of time.

I just want to be clear that I literally only used instances that just came to my mind (it's been a bit since I've played), but there are many more references to them not being virgins. Hell, I only mentioned ones made by the actual LIs, and not the ones from other characters. But I am not going to go into it or I won't stop. xD

He does have an attached ID. But he has developed powers that allow him to teleport to Eternum realms and vice-versa without the need to 'log in'. Which means his actions on Eternum while doing so might not have been registered by Ulysses

I think the point being is that Nova is supposed to be a virgin and yet she took Orion's salami like a damn pro. Ergo, Penny and Alex's sexual performance is not a good gauge in determining that they are non-virgins if a virgin can match them just as well.

We don't have to assume Nova is a virgin; she says so, clearly, on more than one occasion. Yes, Penny's beautiful and popular, and also nice and therefore relatively approachable--she's presumably had opportunities that Nova hasn't. She hasn't had much in the way of relationships--one boyfriend for a few weeks--but that doesn't rule out a hookup.

But the argument I'm seeing from Dingolingo (to the extent there's any argument at all) is "look at their scenes; of course they aren't virgins." And Nova's scene completely repudiates that argument. There are other reasonable bases for believing them to not be virgins, but not that one.

Or that, stated more succinctly than I did.

Again, if you actually pay attention to the dialogue and the story in the game, boom, you'll have your answers.

My conclusion after the last update was always this: non-virgin: Alex, Penny and Nancy. Virgin: the others. Still, doesn´t really matter. It´s just fun to discuss.

As of last week, we stand at 68% (not nice)
We get about 6% progress every 2 weeks, so 12% a month
Divide 100 by 12 and you get around 8 months of development time
Version 0.8 came out for the public in January
Assuming that Caribdis has real life going on, we could stretch dev time to 9-10 months, so, yeah, about November sounds right

I would love to get faster updates, but IMO a longer dev cycle allows for a more significant story arc to happen than you could get with a shorter dev cycle. So I'll take a long dev cycle with a more interesting story over a short one with a simple story any day. I agree that this game is very linear but as long as I go into it knowing that I'm ok with it.

Maybe he'll do more branches and choices that make more difference in his next game. Even if he doesn't I think he's one of the better devs out there from a storytelling standpoint for adult games. I would find the story for this game interesting even if there weren't any sex scenes. Can't say that about most adult games I've played. A lot of them I just skip to the sex scenes and ignore the story. Not this one.

I´m not starting anything, I was just answering. But I won´t be surprised if this topic comes back eventually.

I understand the feeling, I whish updates took half the time they do.
That said, I don´t understand a lot of how these games are made but I´m going to say this and anyone should feel free to correct me: what makes the development time so long isn´t so much the renders, which are great but still not the best thing out there, it´s the animations. The animations in this game are incredible, but to make them like that it must take a terrible ammount of work and that is, in my opinion, why development is so long. It also "helps" that this specific update coming out is going to be the biggest so far, so that´s also why it´s taking longer than others.

Everyone wishes the updates were faster, but, at the risk of sounding like an echo chamber, quality takes time. I'm saying this as someone who checks in every so often on the status but doesn't follow the development with a magnifying glass though, so take it with a grain of salt.

We can compare this game to any other out there and say "this one updates even slower and has less content" or the opposite, but regardless of the resolution of the renders, branching paths, the amount of people working on it, the quality of the rendering PC, there's one thing I can say confidently. Cari has never missed. Sure, the quality increase between Eternum and OIAL is astronomical, but even back then, Cari delivered. Each update is both well thought out and content rich, even if personally, they're still oh so painfully short, but I'm greedy. I haven't played many games where I liked every LI and want more of.

Anyways, before I go on a massive tangent, we're all in the same boat. We want more. But I don't think it's fair to say that the updates should be faster simply because it's basically a static novel. Just my two cents though lol
