I go to the party at the mayor's house, and I can go upstairs or the basement. If I try to go to the living room or kitchen, I get an error. Tried deleting and unzipping 1.0b again, and start from a previous save point, but get the same result. Any advice?

Solved it. Deleted the saves since updating, copied rest of save folder, deleted game, then unzipped from compressed folder and pasted save folder. Apparently there was a glitch, and the new saves were causing a problem.
