The crack is so you can start the game without an activation key. Per the red text on the first post, only the Gallery mode works for now, everything else is just placeholders and apparently link to the Patreon. I'm just going to guess that will be the same for the next few versions, at least.

The crack doesn't have anything to do with the buttons in the game linking to Patreon. Those features don't actually exist yet. The crack only lets you get into the game so you can see those options.
