If you read the thread then you would know that multiplayer is how they are able to continue getting animation work made for them.
They are currently developing the actual game, but it works against their best interest to finish the game. See Star Citizen for a good example of a game, with a lot of funds, that continues to fund raise. Project H will most likely never "finish" their game; as long as they continue to have patrons.

Objectively false. Plenty of online games can be cheated. Most actually. Not saying this one will be one of those, just positing the option.
