The investor is Tencent. Project Helius is a Chinese development team, the largest top two F2P games in terms of revenue are Honor of Kings and PUBG (Roblox is done via their own corporation), and that Tencent's been trying to get into the adult games business via investments in development teams after seeing how there's a market for it when Steam started distribution for such games. The cloud-based requirement is for property control as well as implementation of loot boxing, because that needs to be done server-side.

All in all, I don't see anything good coming out of this in the future, especially when Chinese companies like Tencent are involved. They take games and turn them into predatory ones that rely on gambling and addition to sustain their revenue and kills off what makes games good.
Tencent? That is impossible, i live in China, there is no company make adults game, because this is inlegal and strictly prohibited in China, and another reason, the market of adults game is too small for them, they only make or plagiarism games which can earn 100 million dollars at least per year.

We can all agree that whatever fable Helius is peddling around about an investor is a complete lie. Is this the same company that so generously offered them their mocap studio in exchange for the multiplayer mode nobody wanted?

Can anyone here actually tell me what company would be willing to invest millions into a bestiality game, in the current political climate, and have their name plastered when the game boots up?

I view this whole narrative as a way for Helius to justify all the shady shit he's been implementing into the game and to have a convenient scapegoat for any unpopular decision. See, it's not the poor developer that is to blame, it's the greedy publisher that is forcing him to put in all these shit ideas.

You know, the publisher that is willing to invest 20 million dollars into a bestiality game with insect sex.

This is the most likely scenario. By now we all know Helius is a liar and a scammer, someone who will do whatever it takes to milk this product as much as possible.

Its crazy that you'd think a massive company based in China and has ties to the CCP would invest in a porn game, let alone one that contains bestiality. A country that is so notorious for censoring even lewd art, let alone straight up porn. And you have people that would actually believe this shit?

Look, bestiality is a taboo even in the wild liberal West, let alone China. I can still somewhat believe if a company wants to test their mocap capabilities alone but plastering your company's name into a game that indulges in stuff like insect and bestiality sex is never good for PR as a company with huge capital.

Helius is spewing lies. No multimillion gaming company wants that shit on their track record regardless where they're from.

I wouldn't doubt it all that much. I'm sure he's talked it up to be better than it is, but this is the sort of thing MindGeek would probably be interested in or many companies like whoever owns DLsite. Plus he runs his bestiality game on AWS and funds through patreon while releasing on Steam with many videos hosted on Xvideos, no company really minds too much until someone rocks the boat. It does also explain the senseless shift and maintaining that course after losing around a third of his patrons since now he'd have actual legally binding obligations he has to fulfill.

Though the company certainly wouldn't be Tencent, they poached his lead concept artist back around when this offer was made and you don't poach from someone you invest in.

Hello all.
I've installed this crack and then later got legitimate access to the beta.
I'm attempting to connect to the server on the official beta but can't connect.

I already deleted the folder that I put the old cracked version in, but is there a chance that I may have to delete some other installed files in order to connect to the actual server? If so, what would I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

what are some other games just like this one? I have a pretty good PC and I love this game and how simple it is, but they started taking too long with updates now.

Haha you sure the artist poaching is legitimate or it just "Oh our artist got stolen" words? Is there actual evidence like the artist name on that company? All I read now is "Helius says this, Helius says that" while barely have any evidences that support his words.

I mean a lot of things we can only go by what Helius or one of the mods say. I personally doubt it was as much poached as it was a pay dispute and Helius being too greedy to negotiate. Someone making as much as he was at the time can afford to keep talent around if they want, though Helius has used it to justify the monetization and stuff in the past so interpret as you will.

So after checking this out, I have a serious question, wouldn't be surprised if it's been asked/discussed before, but fuck searching through 460 pages for that.

What does a legitimate customer gain here?
I mean, this is an animation viewer, yes there's some interactivity, but not enough that I would classify it as a "game"...
I guess there's the multi"player" aspect, where you can watch what other people are getting off to, but I doubt many people need that shit in their life.
Yeah, the models are nice, the animations are mostly good, but whatever logic/collision detection they're using to expand orifices breaks far too often and even Illusion games do a far better job of showing cum after a climax, which is not a compliment to Illusion, the system this "game" has is just garbage.
Creampies are supposed to be dry right?

It costs at least 36$ to get a Steam key (aka a full version that's getting updates) and then you have to grind to be able to watch all animations?
With what looks like an energy system akin to mobile games, multiple weird currencies and fuck me, are those blueprints lootboxes as well?
Do they actually have real-money microtransactions in as well?

How is this raking in, at least, 60k$ a month on Patreon? With the real number likely much higher, as support levels go up to 82$ for stupid people or an eye-watering 254.50$ PER MONTH for people who really don't need their money.
Sure, Patreon takes a cut (20%? 30%?), but if these guys are getting their artists poached by Tencent, they're buying too many solid gold, diamond studded dildoes for themselves and not paying their artists a proper wage.

Why are so many people supporting this?

Could I just make a porn game, ask for 10$ up front, then pause before a climax and go:
"5 cents to watch this animation play out, 50 cents if you want her to Ahegao"
and rake in the dosh?

I think its even been mentioned in the discord, but as long as you don't care about multiplayer then the cracked version is by far the better version. Even if you want to support Helius, your best bet is donate then get a cracked copy since it's far more stable and performs better. Though I wouldn't recommend it, Patrons don't really have any influence anymore.

It will have real money MTX, and yeah it has mobile game like systems because it is going mobile now. It's not an xcom style game anymore, it's some weird clash of clans rip off that seems to be made by some outsourced company.

It's only a matter of time. I mean, why else would they introduce the grind, the lootboxes (with random, and usually duplicate cards), the energy system etc.? All these systems are in place to introduce the "pay not to grind" monetization scheme.

Also, how long has it now been since Helius has added actual content to the game? 3-4 months? More?

I mentioned a few months back how their whole business system was unsustainable if they couldn't keep rolling out content at a steady pace, because unlike most other skinner boxes there really is nothing here to keep people coming back once they grow bored of the current animations.

Why are so many people supporting this?
Lots of people likely even forgot they are subscribed, and when you have thousands of people paying a few dollars every month it quickly adds up. Then again, there's also a lot of simps desperate the get their coom on regardless of how much a developer is abusing them and their wallet.

Also, to be fair, he did lose a fair bit of subscribers over the past few months, and will likely lose even more as he continues to not deliver and make the product more awful with every new iteration.

I predict he'll keep the scam going for as long as possible before he pulls another Fallen Doll.

I don't even think Helius is developing the game anymore. It's been months since any real content has come out, and in the meantime Helius has changed his story at least a dozen times.

First it was gonna be a singleplayer game, then it was going to be a singleplayer game with a multiplayer component, then the singleplayer was going to be sold separately from the multiplayer part (which Helius rather backpedaled on when too many people complained), then it became a multiplayer only skinner box, and then he announced they were porting the whole project over to Unreal 5, AND THEN they said the whole game was going to be streamed over the internet so you could play it on the mobile.

And in all this time basically zero new animations, characters, monsters, outfits, locales got released. All people are getting are concept drawings for characters that have been announced more than a year ago and still are not in the game.
