It's only a matter of time. I mean, why else would they introduce the grind, the lootboxes (with random, and usually duplicate cards), the energy system etc.? All these systems are in place to introduce the "pay not to grind" monetization scheme.

I mentioned a few months back how their whole business system was unsustainable if they couldn't keep rolling out content at a steady pace, because unlike most other skinner boxes there really is nothing here to keep people coming back once they grow bored of the current animations.

Why are so many people supporting this?

Lots of people likely even forgot they are subscribed, and when you have thousands of people paying a few dollars every month it quickly adds up. Then again, there's also a lot of simps desperate the get their coom on regardless of how much a developer is abusing them and their wallet.

Also, to be fair, he did lose a fair bit of subscribers over the past few months, and will likely lose even more as he continues to not deliver and make the product more awful with every new iteration.

I predict he'll keep the scam going for as long as possible before he pulls another Fallen Doll.

It will have real money MTX, and yeah it has mobile game like systems because it is going mobile now. It's not an xcom style game anymore, it's some weird clash of clans rip off that seems to be made by some outsourced company.

I don't even think Helius is developing the game anymore. It's been months since any real content has come out, and in the meantime Helius has changed his story at least a dozen times.

First it was gonna be a singleplayer game, then it was going to be a singleplayer game with a multiplayer component, then the singleplayer was going to be sold separately from the multiplayer part (which Helius rather backpedaled on when too many people complained), then it became a multiplayer only skinner box, and then he announced they were porting the whole project over to Unreal 5, AND THEN they said the whole game was going to be streamed over the internet so you could play it on the mobile.

And in all this time basically zero new animations, characters, monsters, outfits, locales got released. All people are getting are concept drawings for characters that have been announced more than a year ago and still are not in the game.

Story mode? nah. Galateea? nah. More animations? mostly nah, just a few half broken ones. Some actual gameplay, sexual or not? nah. An always online free to play grindy gatcha game? Hell yea bro!

I mean a lot of things we can only go by what Helius or one of the mods say. I personally doubt it was as much poached as it was a pay dispute and Helius being too greedy to negotiate. Someone making as much as he was at the time can afford to keep talent around if they want, though Helius has used it to justify the monetization and stuff in the past so interpret as you will.

Step One -> Take the demo version on steam , and check by yourself if it worth it, even in an alt account if you don't want family/friend know you play that "game".

Most people here are going to tell you to give your money to a foundation ( or them) or even spend on another game, it's more worthful.
Here its an unfinished "game" (" " because there no game actualy) , there a lot more of Cons than Pros, broken promise, obvious fake information (I'm waiting the "Elon Musk is going to invest in Project Helius" announcement), and more
If there a complete version someday (and you still alive), you can probably buy it until then refer to Step One

Which is completely impossible, because anything with producing porn is illegal and criminal in China, and authorities can even ask Interpol to investigate and extradict any chinese citizen involving in porn (artist, programmer, head of project), even living outside China and considering it is legal there, and prosecute him for breaking Chinese laws (of course, if they think it worth it).
It is also negates any chance that any Chinese company would allow to take part in porn activity.

You know how some games let you gather collectibles to unlock character and enemy models you can view from a special gallery, and sometimes said models can be made to animate at the press of a button?

Well, this thing is basically it, sans the actual game that comes with the gallery, and in its place is a skinner box meant to waste your time or steal your money.

But to make it even simpler, here's a few pros and cons.

Pros:
+ the models look nice
+ the animations look nice

Cons:
- you're giving money to Helius
- there is no actual game here
- it's a skinner box
- you're supposed to waste countless hours looping the same animations over and over again to... unlock more animations
- there hasn't been an actual content update in months now, and nothing indicates one will be coming soon
- it's a buggy mess
- it's unoptimized
- will likely get even worse in the future as Helius attempts to go the streaming route
