they could've released something with what they have in terms of resources, game material and devs, what they lack is proper leadership, because the leadership has changed their minds about 10 thousand times so far when it came to wtf this game was supposed to become.

Why would he release something? There are 15,000+ idiots who, no matter what, donate to him on patreon. And he feeds them only with concepts and promises. And I can't understand why this game is being so actively discussed here? It's disposable and boring. I watched a couple of new animations and don't run it until the next update.

I believe some people spend way too much time talking about this game. There's not much else to say regarding the development of it, at this point is clear as day is a scam and it's been 4 years. A serious and committed small development team would have finished already at least a fraction of a completely playable story/game. They haven't. Same animation gallery as in the initial release only that online only and filled with microtransactions, bugs and performance issues.

I do hope all these kind of games reach the completion state, I want the adult gaming industry to become mainstream just like porn is, but with name dropping, scamming fuckers like Helius? I don't see that happening.

You likely haven't tried the VR version. It's miles beyond anything else I've seen. Haven't played the non-Vr version though.

Minimum 15.000 idiots milking at least 10$ per month - that's 150.000$ per month, 8 years * 12 months = 96 m., about 14.4 millions dollars. Including 20$ and 30$ patrons, and even 220$ "forever access" it is more than 15 million dollars.

PHplusSTUDIO was founded by some netizens of ZODGAME forum, a well-known Chinese HGAME forum who has localized a lot of ILLUSION works.

So he's just some dude who used to help translate ILLUSION games.

Also his old ZODGAME handle is grrr0087 if someone familiar with Chinese and Chinese sites wants to go read back further, from what I can tell he had optimization issues even back then.

I haven't tried that. Well, I'll run it not once, but twice. It won't change the essence. All such games are interesting only as long as there are character or scene updates or possible customization of characters/poses. It's just a set of animations. We are not saying that there are not so many of them and that not all of them can be liked.
That's why people are waiting for an update, because this version is already boring and uninteresting

Well I don't think anybody suspected him of being some rockstar developer. My favourite quote was when he was asked why he hadn't heard from the rebuild team in months and he said "I think that's normal in agile development." Like, buddy, hearing a dev say that is embarrassing.

It would certainly explain a lot if they were just a bunch of randoms from some modding forum having a play around in Unreal Engine though. It covers everything from their trouble with optimisation to them being perfectly capable of churning out high quality models and textures but completely incapable of putting an actual game together or managing a project.

I made a little tweak using 3Dmigoto to get rid of the hard shadows at higher settings. You know that stuff where just moving the camera will cast a harsh shadow over the characters. ...

any way to make this work with 0.34?

Edit: Turns out I was pasting the files in the wrong directory. It works just fine.

Anyways, upon further testing I found out that some shadows are still being cast, Alet's eyes and tongue, and monster like the hound, the reptile, the ghast, the basatan, the insects , the lloigor and the pterodactyl, as well as the tentacle things still cast shadows. I'd tweak it myself if I had the knowledge, but yeah. Still good stuff.

I can see your point, it does get boring, of course. There's plenty of animation loops out there so in that aspect it's not anything special.
All I wanted to say is that the VR version is kind of mindblowing, because you can move around and see everything from different angles, like you're there. But I suppose eventually it does get old as well.

Can't say I've played all of them, but from what I've seen... in addition to having more control over the scene, the controls are much more intuitive, you can freely move around, also the models are better than anything else I've seen.
