15,826 subs on 21 January to 15,820 at close of business yesterday. I didn't even know it was possible for Patreon subs to go down mid-month, I can only imagine that's either account deletions or users being banned or something. By the looks of it that chart is going to drop like a mother fucking rock in a weeks time.

Also look at the full year chart, they lost about 8k from 2021 to today, a 27% drop, according to the graph
I seriously hope there's a huge drop this month, people can't be this freaking stupid.

Probably because that video literally just shows a character model with PS3 era graphics walking around a map.
Other than the new map it looks largely unchanged from the closed beta and I suspect people were looking for something more substantive.
I will give it the benefit of the doubt regarding the potato graphics as I suppose PH devs may well be running it on an actual potato.

The date of this video is 12/21/2022. They couldn't provide the patreon or any other social media with this update (aside from discord obviously)? It doesn't seem honest to wait until it's time to do damage control if you care about your community or transparency.
This would have been a reasonable tide over while waiting and people may have been lenient with their feedback and disappointment over the failure to provide what was promised if they received regular updates like this.
It has been several years and there has been minimal improvement in either communication or the release cycle. Just endless empty apologies and weak attempts at transparency.
At this point anyone still paying is doing so because the drama is worth whatever tier they sub for a month.
It's a little embarassing to watch!

Hey, imagine earning tens of thousands every month and all you have to do is bullshit a bunch of gullible people every now and then, while enjoying your new house in the bay area...
They are able to do so by deleting 99% of the negative feedback and banning naysayers, effectively keeping newcomers mostly in the dark - by the time they realize this is a scam, they might have already paid one or several months.
you're exaggerating, the graphics are good, the video is compressed to hell and back. And the graphics question isn't even here, if you've played the game you know it looks great, and that's a model you can already see ingame.
The walk animation is just really janky but it's not a big deal.

What new version? We'll see The Day Before release before this game gets actual content. Even the video they posted and promptly deleted was just the same map they showed off during the beta and the "gameplay" was just walking in circles. They're still showing off recycled content.

Sure, but that doesn't address any of what I'd stated and only raises further questions. Why do discord mods get access to this upcoming version early? Are they a part of the development team as well? And yet again there's no clarity as to the delay of release. What specifically are the technical issues that are stopping this from seeing daylight for the general public?
Even funny glitches or screenshots of problems that are being ironed out. Anything could be better than the explanation(s) patrons are getting.
Maybe some videos of Galatea in action? A new animation or two?
Surely since she's "Almost complete" aside from steam reviewing animations it should be a minimal effort for them to show off a little bit of gameplay for her.
If that's true and this recent video is just a recycled build they show off to keep the grift going, well I don't know what to say really.

The map looks OK, although it's nothing special, but the character model looks like they've pared it back a lot since 0.4.9 presumably as part of their "optimization" work.
Looks like they've implemented some rather poor soft body physics (not that it was good before), textures and lighting on the character are almost entirely flat, you can see the character is similarly lit even running through dark areas, and there's no self-shadowing other than from the ponytail which seems like a dirty hack given that the shadow is the same irrespective of light source.
Remember this isn't the same build as 0.4.9, they've explicitly been trying to improve performance and by the looks of it that has come with some tradeoffs.
Again I'm willing to give them a pass on this since we don't know what system they're running it on, but either way it doesn't actually show anything other than a character walking around a map. If subscribers were looking for confirmation that development is progressing then this isn't it.
Deadline has long passed and Helius has made 0 news releases. Instead a dev had to put out a discord message defending them.
Imagine if Rockstar said GTA 5 was releasing Jan 15th, but no release happens, they ignore all messages and make no comments. Then a week later one of their devs say it's still coming but they don't know when. 2 weeks later still no communication.
Helius doesn't care about the game or the people paying for it. Everything they say and don't say point to that. They're just waiting for Febuary's money to come in to post some new pictures they paid someone on fiverr to make
