You need to go to the patreon of the developers of this game, choose a subscription for $35 or euros, and then go to their website and get a key that you need to activate in Steam.
You are advised not to buy it, but even I am recommending it because I have already bought it. Because this game has been in development for more than 7 years, after you come here you will not have sex scenes, because you need to donate, in general it is not recommended to do this
Step 1: Go to the very first (1) page of this thread.
Step 2: Click on the 'Patreon' link (and make an account if needed).
Step 3: Select a tier (equivalent to $35 USD of whatever currency you use now).
Step 4: Follow the instructions on the Patreon.
Step 5: Congratulations you've spent money on a 'early-access' 'game' that requires a constant connection to servers (that can be shutdown at anytime) rife with shitty monetization practices and shifty devs.
Thank you for serving as the example as to why allowing a government to implement a digital licence requirement to access adult content is a terrible idea.

If the game is banned in your country wouldn't Steam just restrict your access to it once it's in your Steam library? That's probably something you should research before purchasing if you haven't already.

Steam doesn't restrict the access of the game - only the purchase/sale of it. However, games on Steam that are banned via court order for example - are not permitted to be purchased or used on accounts that it affects. This also means VPN usage to activate an otherwise unavailable game would result in the account owner facing a ban.
In Germany though, adult games are permitted providing they meet the condition of legitimate age verification methods. In this case, VALVe did not want to put one on, so instead of just implementing an age verification method that works - like what SONY does on the PS4/PS5 with a simple ID number check (with no data collection), VALVe just blocks access completely.

German people just can't access the store page. They can play the game without any problem after adding it to the library with a steam key.

I was on the fence, because in the end it's your money, but I'm gonna say it anyway:
Don't give these people money, you are going to regret it.
I was their patron for 5 months and still own the game.
First off the game itself is basically a couple of connected rooms, where you and the other players are running their scenes. It's a kind of communal wankfest, Kekswichsen ohne Keks basically
So if you're not into in being in a room with other perverts jerking off, it's probably not for you.
No voice-chat, though for me that was more a pro than a con.
Scenes for the characters are unlocked by spending "likes" via a gacha-system, same goes for outfits. You get a couple of likes a day and a set amount can be awarded by other players. Though which scenes you get is completely rng-based. There is also a pity-system, but they are very stingy with the points you get for duplicates.
You can also "borrow" a scene from another player for a day, to give you a taste, you know like when the dealer gives you your first hit for free.
After release (if it ever happens) you supposedly will get likes based on how much money you've given them.
The servers are constantly crashing, as is the game itself. Honestly the cracked version we have here is probably the most stable build of the game I've seen over the last 2 years.
I install the game every so often out of morbid curiosity. And it's been getting worse, especially since the UE5 update.
Performance is abysmal and I'm running the game on a beast of a PC. The game is the only one that has brought my rtx 4090 to its limits.
The game is also constantly in danger of being censored:
They've changed multiple monsters to abide by steams and patreons whims. Several scenes were removed as well.
Helius has been promising Galatea's inclusion for 2 years now and still hasn't delivered (as if steam or patreon will ever let him include a loli-character).
Also, there supposedly will be a SFW single-player mode, though I don't know if its still being promised or not.
He also keeps delaying updates for months on end.
To end this already too long rant:
Please don't give this douche any more money; his herd of sheeple already throws enough at him.
There are so many honest devs out there who are making good games while barely scraping by.
And they are much more worthy of our hard-earned cash than this fucking grifter.

You keep access forever and get updates free unlike, say VAM, which tries to scam you into updates and then make you pay for them after you already updated

Is it constantly crashing in general or only for a week or so after patches? Pretty big difference, though neither is acceptable. I can't answer that part myself as I've only dropped in briefly to test stuff and haven't really played consistently.
This one is something you need to fix on your end, without question. I did test the UE5 engine and got over 80 FPS at native 4K and don't even bother with DLSS upscaling to boost frame rate because of monitor, but also because the game has such poorly optimized CPU usage that there is likely no CPU on the entire market that can push the RTX 4090 to 100% usage, even after overclocking the CPU. This is while being only able to use 35% of my GPU. With better CPU optimization my FPS would exceed 200 even before upscaling, just using native.
Maybe it was a driver issue or a one patch off issue, but definitely not the norm for the current state of the game. If it were then no one would essentially be able to play when, as you put it, even the RTX 4090 is basically brought to its knees (which it is not).
Yeah, I think there was even a comment on the Patreon post claiming the prior Galatea was the updated one yet that is the post Helius removed of Galatea, and this came days after Helius stated on Discord to not panic and that the Patreon was temp banned while reviewing the new Galatea yet supposedly she isn't even approved per the newest post along with the deleted updated post of her.
Helius is lying out his ass and people on Discord/Patreon are too stupid to get it. Then he is going to find another reason to delay her after Talon, once again. Pretty sure he has said Galatea has been approved like 4-5x by Patreon in the past 18 months. Heh.
