This game is gonna be like porn xcom yeah? Seems like a lot of work but 15 mil deal? Damn where is the dosh coming from, patreon?

I remember a game called Divine Arms having the artist quit and instead of putting the game on hold the guy who ran the project kept payments going to string people along promising he was going to use the money to train a new artist, before canceling it and moving on to a different game. Eromancer was also infamous for stringing people along with promised updates that never came. It's not unheard of.Why would project helius even announce this without mentioning a name? Why would the one leaving the project not announce this himself? Nobody knows who is working for him and nobody knows what they were or still are working on, specifically.
Just look at other patreon-financed games. Those will never leave their community in the dark.
"Honestly its possibly our fault", its never the responsibility of the consumer what the devs decide to do, if they got a massive amount of support, its their own responsibility to meet that expectation. If not, they could have easily stopped patreon.Well, money turn them into what they are now. Eromancer back when they new was very promising and delivered content frequently but after we shoved them too much money they changed. Project Helius now follow. Well to be honest it is possibly our fault for completely trusting them and gave them huge amount of money in hope they make the game better, but actually make thing worse because the devs realized how naive we are thus doing thing we now all known.Did they learn from Star Citizen0.0
No, i mean that, if we not give them so much money like that, they will be pressure to actually delivering the content. I saw it everytime. at first when the support was low, they actually release content; but after a sudden bloom in support and porpularity, they start their "scam"."Honestly its possibly our fault", its never the responsibility of the consumer what the devs decide to do, if they got a massive amount of support, its their own responsibility to meet that expectation. The consumer shouldnt have to have trust issues with devs, its just the shitty devs that take advantage. If this project gets abandon and they run off with the money, itd be shitty for all the people who gave money to them, but in no way would it be their fault.
While that is true to a degree, it's also true that the costumer is at fault if they reward bad practices with continued financial support."Honestly its possibly our fault", its never the responsibility of the consumer what the devs decide to do, if they got a massive amount of support, its their own responsibility to meet that expectation. Yea im pretty much in the same boat, month after month of being told something should be out of steam then days after they said the game would be on steam they say someone offered 15 mil but they didnt take it..then still no game on steam,When the announced Harem mode, they stated that it would be linked to Patreon for user authentication. They didn't know who would be their distributor of the game and they do not plan to do that their selves. Data transmission cost money. Example: Data transmission, in an AWS region, is free. Once data leave the region, Amazon will charge for transmission out side of the AWS Region. So DLSite and XVideos have agreed to host the game for distribution. Steam finally agreed to do so and the game entered alpha testing with their devs only having access. There was a video released to show this off. But with people having left the team, ProjectH being wishy washy about the 15 mil deal, and no word on when exactly the CBT (closed beta test) will take place, who knows. I am one of the few people, on f95, that are very pro supporters of this project. I subbed for a good while and I active watch their Discord while at work. But I am bitter that I was charged this month and they have not been firm with the CBT date, let alone narrow time frame. There will be no charge, on my card, next month. I'm not going to be the durak walking the streets and smiling for no reason.
i agree with you 100% tho i do do a bit of 3d modeling and have been around some creators and understand as your game gets bigger so does the list of repairs/maintenance gets bigger so looks like your doing less each update, but that said while this game has some of the most impressive graphics i have seen i belive they have made a massive mistake going with this harem mode instead of what people were backing them for. While that is true to a degree, it's also true that the costumer is at fault if they reward bad practices with continued financial support.
You see the same pattern repeat on Pateron time and again:
1. someone makes a project
2. project gets popular and starts receiving money
3. the work ethic of the developer decreases proportionally to the amount of money people are pledging
Eventually you end up with a developer who does the bare minimum of work to keep up the pretence the project is still being worked on and the cash flowing in - usually accompanied with the exact same litany of excuses: personal and family issues, health issues, hardware problems etc.
As loler69 said, if supporters threatened to stop supporting the dev if a reasonable release schedule was not maintained you'd see the developers sing a very different tune.
But as they say, a sucker is born every minute, and suckers are the reason MTX, lootboxes, pay2win and other such exploitative business models exist and allow companies to rake in ridiculous amounts of cash.
What is this idiot talking about? Now artists "sell themselves" when they want to begin a career in the videogame industry? I just feel sad for all the people that have put money on this for all these years. This game will not be finished, just like Wild Life.![]()
Big yikes. Feels like they're just trying to pump up the drama at this point to try and draw attention away from the fact that the beta still hasn't been released.
I fully agree with this statement - I didn't mean to imply contnet creators can run their project like clockwork - content creation and software development are notoriously unpredictable in terms of what can be achieved and when - hence why I added "reasonable" next to "release schedule."i agree with you 100% tho i do do a bit of 3d modeling and have been around some creators and understand as your game gets bigger so does the list of repairs/maintenance gets bigger so looks like your doing less each update
In a bit of irony it's the same way Star Citizen eventually ended up becoming what it is today. The initial pitch, and what people actually paid Roberts for, was to make a single-player game, but as Roberts kept promising more and more, and as the money kept pouring it, the project eventually morphed into the monstrosity it is today.they have made a massive mistake going with this harem mode instead of what people were backing them for
Nope, the latest update on Discord is just the front cover image for the game. Somehow though we're 3 days away from October and ProjectH still can't commit to a release date. I feel bad for anyone that's still blindly pledging to them.is there anything new about the game? any information? from their discord channel maybe?
Yeah, they won't drop that until the new month so everyone gets charged again.Nope, the latest update on Discord is just the front cover image for the game.
