Nah, some people just really are that dense. Just look at everyone supporting this actual scam on Patreon.

I don't know, some of his claims are so out there it seems really improbable that he's being sincere. Like claiming the game isn't grindy because you can hit level 80 in the current build in "a few days of playing a bit." Even if you played for the full 48 hours that would be a level every ~30 minutes, which is impossible with the way dailies and that sanity mechanic work.

That's before even getting on to the unironic usage of the "she's really a 50 billion year old robot trapped in a little girls body" trope, saying the current build has more content than illusion games, pretending that the games original premises* were only added recently, comparing it to AAA (and non-crowdfunded) titles... there's just no way that's all genuine.

*I say premises because it has over the years gone from a lovecraftian horror game with porn elements through similarly themed management sim, xcom clone, card based team battler and now a pure sex sim/animation player. It was always meant to be a porn game however. Their abandoning that is relatively recent.

I want to add one thing that almost everyone forgot. Some time ago ( year ago ? ) they've added new pledge for their own Motion capture studio.

After a long time, it still sits at 41% pledge completion and barely anyone seems to be investing into that. I wonder why...
My point is, why this small indie dev is gathering money for motion capture studio ? Are they planning to hire girls to do motion capture for a porn game ? What really requires urgent need to own motion capture studio ? to make better walking animation ? you can literally buy that stuff from professionals and its way cheaper that way.

Can you guys watch this vid? Today is the last day on my yearly patreon sub, didn't know they removed the $40 yearly sub and replaced it with 8 dollars a month membership. Still blows my mind that they didn't update the game monthly like they said they would and still update us with no gameplay until today. Judging from the vid tho, it's nothing new we haven't seen before imo, aside of the new HUD and status, it's just pole dancing for likes and glory holes.

Sounds like a hallmark symptom of poor direction and leadership.

Helius is probably more concerned with optics than actually putting a complete product together.

They are doing everything except make the damn game. Concept arts, new engine port, data persistence. None of which should be done before the base GAMEPLAY itself, from a game dev point of view.

I've talked about this before in the thread, but the "game" lacks a core gameplay loop.

So, what Helius expects people to do is to grind the same canned animations over and over again to... unlock more animations? I mean, other games with a similar business model also have you unlocking things by playing, but in the case of, say, War Thunder you're playing an actual game to grind out new vehicles.

There is no gameplay to be had here, you just set up the animation, rub one out and then quit after the deed is done. Either that or you just sit there, in the dark, looping the same animations over and over again until you get sick of them.

Now, if there had been an XCOM-like strategic and tactical layer, perhaps combining the use of female agents and whatever critters were bred with them as units of the battlefield, or even a simple brothel managment mod, or really anything else so this thing could be more than a glorified animated gallery, there would be a future here.

truth be told that sort of shit like syncing all the player data between different systems does take a lot of fuckin around with stuff.
I needed more than a week for a 7000+ line (which just means it couldn't be done manually obv) data conversion between projects that are vastly different from OL not long ago, but I'm a dumbass noob with 0 experience, so that all is still just an excuse to me

Everyone has specific sexual preferences, which narrows down ammount of scenes we're going to enjoy or care about. But at the same time, I feel it could be super fun with proper players that share similar fetishes etc.

Regardless all of the controversies sorrounding this game. It's still one of the top ones to wait for.

I'm personally only into the vanilla only if it's POV, lesbian and the flying things (drones or creatures, I really don't care as long as it's a flying dildo)
Everything else is...not arousing at all to me (ie. fuckin pigs, dogs, giant monsters, dragons, whatever)

It will get dull regardless. Games are fun because they're interactive, there's nothing fun about watching a bunch of looping animations, especially if you're forced to reuse the same ones over and over and over again to grind.

As an example, and ignoring everything else wrong with the game, most vehicles in War Thunder are different, and even if they weren't, the gameplay itself is dynamic enough to keep people entertained.

Also, there's the issue that not many people are going to hang around on the server after they've bust a nut, and the playerbase is already going to be small enough because not many people are going to find it enjoyable to virtually masturbate with other men.

They haven't said anything about it in well over a year so that seems unlikely. If they had combat drill it probably would have accounted for the bulk of development over the last year, it would make no sense to simply not mention it.
