Agreed... the DEV is talented enough to suck us in with with all the rest of the game, so that all but the most jaded will at least give it to Ep3

But like you are saying, the cheating, vs no she didn't I changed my mind I want it to be rape - was ham-fisted enough that it has the potential to have folks just walk away if it isn't sorted to some degree that makes sense.

It seems that the DEV wants the game to be about MC, Annie, and Ava on a road trip.

Some might have it be enough info to call it "rape" and move on. What the rest are saying is, as you pointed out: There is also enough to claim.....she cheated on the MC, because that is what the Dev wanted them to think on the previous release.

*added - And I'm ok with it being rape or it being cheating, it just needs to be "fixed", either way, so it isn't so much of a "bait and switch" as it is now.

We've discussed how addicts act/re-act ad nauseam here, along with the evidence for the per-meditated cheating. When you ad the history that the MC has with Ava/Annie and their relationships to the MC's tormentor, it makes for a Joyless cross country road trip, that we'd rather not be on. I think we just want something to hang our hats on so that the relationship between MC/Ava/Annie could at least be plausible.

I sort of agree that I'm looking forward for Episode 3, but it is as a personal closure, because Episode 1 is pretty good so I want this game to get back on track. If it hits, then awesome, I can keep looking forward to it, if its a miss, then I can get the closure I need from the game.

Also, I'm fine with Ava being either a cheater or a rape victim, but pick one, don't do this Episode 1 flashback in third person with Inner monologue and narrator (which means it "happened" and its not a point of view stuff") about how she cheated and then the same thing in Episode 2 but with the molly and rape.

Please, just pick one, I hope in Episode 3 there isn't a demonic possession point of view so we have 3 different arcs for Ava.

I left my theory on what really happened with Ava a few pages back. To piggy back off of that, I think the dev intentionally wanted us to believe that Ava cheated in Chapter 1 to create a buzz about the game and get people talking and interested in the game. A few other games I have played have done something similar. To a certain degree, this seemed to work pretty well. The game got quite a few reviews and they were really positive, also it got people talking about the game. I think that the dev made the mistake of trying to do the same thing again in Chapter 2 by implying that Bryce raped Ava. This time the reaction is overwhelmingly negative. Hopefully, if this is what happened, the dev learned a lesson and will clear everything up in Chapter 3.

Kind of agree. The dev did mention they wanted to show different points of view of the story, so I think jealousy or anger towards Ava and Bryce was intended at the beginning. Maybe that was the point, I'm not sure. I think they underestimated how badly people were going to take it. (Or maybe they knew people react this way, I dont know). There is a lot of potential to easily save this for most people though, there just needs to be a good amount of explaining and exposition to get most people here back on board.

I don't understand why people are shocked and upset certain characters don't have the personalities they imagined. The description in this game says

This story is mainly centered around these characters, finding out who they are, how they ended up here, and what the future has in store for them. You will become emotionally attached to them and hopefully empathize with them. You will feel both their joy, and their pain.

If you're expecting characters to be your ideal waifu/gf in specific scenarios then you're probably expecting the wrong things from this game. It's great we have a character like Ava that gets people so heated but can't stop thinking about her. It means the dev's writing is working

That's not the problem, The problem is that the author has doubled down on the argument of reality (he may only be referring to the characters). He has muddled all his character development with inconsistencies and wrong facts related to things like:

1. Depression - A depressed MC would be aggressive towards Ava & Annie's dialogues, he would have cut ties with Annie years ago because she is not his friend. Who keeps friends like her? Just as Weasel_Face said (and I too suffer from depression) a depressed person won't give them any leeway in their idiotic behavior.
2. The way the dev used alcohol & Molly is wrong. - For the amount of alcohol (judgement impairment) and Molly (incapacitation), she would have had to be dragged or kept drinking once upstairs and the Molly would not have knocked her at the turn of a button it may have not even knocked her out. There are a few claims of Molly incapacitating a person but the consensus is that it increases libido and empathy but it does not act as an aphrodisiac or incapacitates nor impairs judgement. So in a way we are only seeing the effects of the alcohol here and she would have been unable to walk straight for her to have enough alcohol to pass out.
3. The probability of things to happen - What are the odds of bumping into the person that betrayed you on that specific day, on that specific road.

The cherry on top is that we are just along for the ride like a fixture just seeing how the inconsistencies pile up. We already know that the LIs are pieces of shit and that's alright, but we were promised realistic scenarios and seeing as we are not playing a kinetic novel (at least it isn't tagged as such), we also want at least an option to put those cunts in their place when they spew their mental diarrhea.

As an aside,if you're telling a story,and you claim most people are missing important information that means 1 of 2 things usually.

1. What the dev considers the important part,is not what most people consider important.

2. You're doing a piss poor job of conveying this information.

Either way that's on the dev not the readers.

At the end of the day, Bryce's intent was to fuck Ava. Conscious or unconcious. I think it's rape since she was knocked out and felt sick, after telling Bryce she's dating MC. But some players do not. Fingers crossed it's cleared up next chapter.

The problem here isn't that we can't stop thinking about her, the problem most people seem to be having now is we want nothing to do with her, but will be forced to if we decide to play future updates. People's problems with the game as of this current update is we see no redeeming features in either LI, as the story is presented thus far both main LI's seem only capable of causing further pain to the MC.

Also, what is this line that no one wants flawed characters? It's kind of a cringe statement that demands anyone that disagrees to prove a negative.

If you don't like it and see no redeeming features in either LI, that sucks. It sounds like the people who hate it have already given up on it or expecting the dev to change his story. The amount of passion behind the hate on Ava sounds so personal. Why so mad? It's just a porn game. Theres other games on here with plenty of sexy fictional characters that won't make you mad.

Is it confirmed that Ava is the only girl you can romance? This game is still new but I got the impression from playing that there are other girls besides Ava I can chase after. I guess I'm in the minority here but I'm just gonna be bummed out if the dev decides to change the story he had planned because people on this thread want Ava out or changed. I want to see how it turns out before deciding if I don't like the complete story.

What exactly have I typed anywhere in this thread that implies I'm mad? This kind of statement is the second cringiest thing people accuse others of on the internet. I'm not mad at all, I am ambivalent/bemused by this game. I just want the story to make sense and have characters that have some redeeming qualities for the MC that I play/experience a story through.

discussing the characters and what story we got so far.

From what we have so far, we can safely discern:
1-Ava was and 4 ever will be Leo”s one and only girlfriend he dated long enough to matter.
2-Annie despite hanging out with Leo at his home, she ended up dating Dick at Bryce”s house.
3-Annie and Ava never interfeared and never stopped Bryce NEVER from beating MC up
a lot over the years.
4-Leo had to settle for not being pursued by any girl at all, while his best friend went on
to date someone who was CLEARLY THE BROTHER/SADISTIC INSTIGATOR 4 Bryce.
Everyone knew who Dick was, they CAME TOGETHER AT SCHOOL AND PARTIES TOGETHER
AT BRYCE”S MANSION

5-Like Weasel_Face shared the story of how some women
understand and live out their independence,
Leo cannot forbid and he will never be taken seriously neither by Annie nor by Ava
whenever he tryes to tell them how he cannot understand why girls that come hang out with him,
for some reason,
also party at Bryce”s house without him, buy/get drugs from Bryce or from his bitches and/or
date or crush on obvious dickheads from his possy - hence why Leo feels forsaken by God.

These girls are all Leo had in his life, those that gave him the light of day,
but they both put tremendous weight on his shoulder by being molested by the brothers
who obviously were hanging together for all to see and bullied MC all the time.

The only thing I've realized is a bit of pacing, and leaving some of the scenes for interpretation, is causing a lot of confusion. I acknowledge that if I was an outsider, I may have been a bit confused on some things as well. But since I'm the creator, obviously I understand it's easier for me to see the bigger picture. All that said, chapter 3 should answer some of your questions in a more clear fashion. I hope so at least.

P.S. I cut out an entire scene in chapter 2 because I thought people wouldn't need it. But, now I'll most likely add it in chapter 3. It would've helped make things more clear if I had left it in.

I think I can say that no one has asked a for a re-write or even changes as much as more clarity as we are now as confused and bewildered as the MC certainly is. I will patiently wait for Chapter 3 and move forward then.

For what this is worth to you as a dev and us as players, we wanna see more of the visual aspect of your novel, because the story in this gaming setup is spelled out in code words sometimes.

It was hearwrecking to see all the girls just sit there and blame MC as he was
being beaten day in and day out by Bryce. They never cared one bit, never interfeared.

So to see MC be dating a girl Bryce conquered with molly pills and essentially leave him in the middle of their relationship to join Bryce at his party where he greets her like his rape date, MC be best friends with the girl who got stuffed by the bulli brother - who instigates Bryce to date rape all the girls ... that just put a wrench in it.
