One scheme out of the 10 indicated on that page uses that type of versioning, the fact that you think that justifies your opinion is ridiculous. This is especially true for a game like this which is a novel style in the form of chapters rather than updates.

However, I think you overlooked probably the most important aspect of the other post...

I get all OCD sometimes about versioning numbers. But as long as they are semi consistent - that's as much as I can hope for from a largely hobbyist community of game writers who do not come from a commercial programming background.

Whilst I have been a member here, I have written one patch for someone else's game. I used the x.xx.xx style of version numbers, starting at 0.1.0. Once I reached my "final" version, I called it 1.0.0. In the future, I'd probably adopt a slightly less complex version, starting at 0.1... with minor bug fixes being 0.1a, 0.1b, etc. (yes, including 0.11 and 0.12 if needed).

That said... I could probably make a compelling argument about this being version 1.0 of chapter 2. Since it is the final version of Chapter 2. I know... I know... subversive eh?

But at the end of the day, I come from a programming background and the 0.x.y versioning style is my personal choice for PC software. If someone makes a different choice... well... vive la différence.

On a purely practical note... on a pirate website that already has more 0.1 and 0.2 versions of games that are likely never to see 0.2 or 0.3... releasing a chapter as 2.0 rather than 0.2 is a practical way of getting your game noticed rather than immediately ignored. Consider it marketing (spit).

I get why it irks you. But at the end of the day, it's not an argument you're going to win in this particular environment. So shrug and move on. Not least, because @Rich is one of a handful of active experts for programming support on this website. If you think he chose to release a 2.0 game without understanding the topic, I think you'd be very much mistaken.

So how about we go back to talking about lewd subjects like groping a mother in front of her son to start the process of breaking her will, rather than dry academic topics like versioning theory and it's practical considerations.

Sorry you didn't care for the second chapter. You did note the genre listing, I assume? While this portion of the story line may not be something you'd be highly likely to encounter in real life, it is, after all, a story. Fiction. A product of our imagination.

I also feel compelled to point out to you and the others objecting on these grounds that many of the stories and games posted on F95 require a degree of "suspension of disbelief." (some larger than others) So if you're going to require "perfect adherence to reality," you're may find the pickings on this site relatively slim.

But if our story turns out not to be your "thing," that's perfectly OK with us - "different strokes," etc., etc.

man. i'm glad so many people live in such wonderful places and have such faith in their countries, governments, and/or local police or security. (hint: <<< thats sarcasm).

i have lived in at least two different countries where this kind of crap could easily happen, there are places in MY country where this could easily happen.

the ONLY thing that might prevent it from being so open or public, or keeping it in some kind of "reality check," is that it would likely get videoed and probably become an instant internet viralpalooza. people in charge would get embarassed and heads would roll, maybe. maybe. or it would get settled out of court with all kinds of non-disclosure agreements. who knows.

doesn't take much suspension of disbelief for me. either you like the story or dont. lots of options on this site people. my 2 cents after seeing all the pages of sputtering. holy fuck.

Dont change the story line. but make the nipple poping and bare ass grabing part inside police station full of police and in front of son and his friend, in public it's not enjoyable for most players. feels bad
