I think you just press up when you're picking the spell's target. I think you can only multi-target fire, ice, thunder, and healing spells. How do I make a spell multi-target? I went through the whole game without knowing it could be done
thanks!I think you just press up when you're picking the spell's target. I think you can only multi-target fire, ice, thunder, and healing spells.
With healing spells, you press down instead of up. If you're out of battle and using a healing spell from the Skills menu, you can press left or right. Also, for most spells that can't multi-target, there is either a separate spell that can (Armor/Armorda), or one of party members gets a passive after class promotion+unlocking the requisite Reinboard panels that can force single target spells of specific colors to multi target - I know Freiderich's Bishop class gets it for White color spells, and George's Aegis class gets it for Green color spells.thanks!
You might just be able to download the trial of RPG maker XP and access the scripts to edit them that way.Translation Update: I've managed to trial and error my way to getting mostly translated versions of both Scripts and System to work without causing any game functions to fail. Now you should be able to set the game to Japanese and still have almost all text show in English, including the previously excluded status explanations, subquest requirements, weapon mastery perks, etc., with the remaining exceptions of the teleports, and half of the options in both the boss refight room and event recollection room. I made a few changes to other map text, like correcting the name of the snowman from "drainboard" to "Sunoco", so I went ahead and uploaded my entire data folder again for you guys.
EDIT: I have discovered a game function that fails when using these files: the map brought up with the Q key doesn't display chests, angel tombs, and teleport seats.
To Do:
-Attempt to resolve the issue preventing map icons from displaying correctly.
-Refine some of the machine translations for items and skills to match the official English translation from Abereon.
-Find a way to extract .json files from .rxdata and see if that will allow me to finally edit the javascript directly to translate the teleports and recollection dialogues.
Hol up, Abereon's translation? did they release a translation? the only MTLS I have seen so far are from people here (thank you for your work btw)Translation Update: I've managed to trial and error my way to getting mostly translated versions of both Scripts and System to work without causing any game functions to fail. If you guys need any rpg maker program i could just give it to youYou might just be able to download the trial of RPG maker XP and access the scripts to edit them that way.
No, not a full translation. The production version of FantasM that Toon667 uploaded does have a handful of things translated into English already - mostly things like item names and descriptions, skill names and descriptions, status names and descriptions, menu options, enemy and character names - the bare minimum to make the game playable for people who don't speak Japanese. It doesn't include any dialogue whatsoever, and a lot of things even in the above mentioned categories are still lacking translations, which is why I've had to struggle so much with the Scripts file. This is why, when using my MTL, you'll still see differences in the text displayed in English depending on whether you set the game to English or Japanese in the settings - things like Eraspell being changed to Kespel and whatnot.Hol up, Abereon's translation? did they release a translation? the only MTLS I have seen so far are from people here (thank you for your work btw)
Ooooh, promising idea! I'll make some time to look into this. You might just be able to download the trial of RPG maker XP and access the scripts to edit them that way.
I believe I would need RPG Maker XP, since that's the one Toon667 mentioned and that's the runtime FantasM requires to run. It looks like the free trial is good for 30 days, which means if it works for my current purposes, I'd only be able to translate the teleports/recollections for this update (and possibly the next one, if Toon667 stays subscribed for November), so your help would be appreciated. If you guys need any rpg maker program i could just give it to you
You don't need a project file, all you need to do is create a new project file and then place that file in the game folder. I can open it like that but I can't read any japanese.EDIT: I've done some preliminary fiddling with it. It looks like in order to load a game using RPG Maker XP, I need it's project file, usually named something like "game.rxprog". Obviously, Abereon doesn't include it with his game downloads so people can't fiddle with it. I've been as of yet unsuccessful searching for a way to generate a .rxprog file using the game itself.
Oh, there we go! I managed to do it, too!You don't need a project file, all you need to do is create a new project file and then place that file in the game folder. I can open it like that but I can't read any japanese.

XD what... how? I swear the file I sent you didn´t have that error on its own....Oh, there we go! I managed to do it, too! View attachment 4180345
Although...If you look in the bottom left, mine displays a bunch of question marks instead of japanese characters. Not sure why yours works better. I noticed that pressing ctrl+f with the script editor open does bring up a find menu, which if so, I could simply search for the characters that remain untranslated in-game and see if changing them in the script directly works, but when I attempted to use it, it couldn't recognize Japanese characters either, even when I copy pasted them from the script itself - trying to search a Japanese character just caused it to return every question mark it could find. What about you, Toon? Can you try searching 初遭遇 and seeing if anything pops up? Also try each character separately just in case, please.
It doesn't search through every single script, only the one that I've selected, it would be really tiresome to try and find that through all the script pagesOh, there we go! I managed to do it, too! View attachment 4180345

I'm assuming it's got something to do with the fact that I'm on Windows 11. I've been having continuous issues with making Japanese characters appear on this stupid thing. Even when I change the system language to Japanese it still doesn't seem to register things downloaded while the locale was in English.XD what... how? Right click and extract here, again and again.Actually, how the heck are you supposed to unpack this fantasm download? im sorry if it was explained earler, but, i took the fantasm 75.zip file, extracted it to the same folder, and clicked on the unzipped folder, and then i extracted the three different blue highlighted fantasm .zip folders, which turned into the three unhighlighted folders, each with their own wierdness, the 001 folder seems to extract perfectly fine, but attempting to unpack the 002 zip instead attempts to download something via my browser, and attempting to open the 003 folder leads to a unknown file type notice from windows!
i tried renaming the files to get rid of the three digit numbers at the end, thinking that they were the issue, but that just breaks the files completely.
before you ask, yes, my computer is set to japanese localization, but im genuinely at a loss here at what to do. no idea. help would be appreciated!

thanks, that worked. i didnt think that 7zip would still work on those files, since they looked so weird.Right click and extract here, again and again.
Using 7zip, extract the first folder ('fantasm 75').
Go in the folder, highlight all three items and pick extract here again via the 7zip menu.
You will have three new items, highlight them ALL and repeat the same procedure once more.
You should now have extracted the 'FantasMv75' folder with no errors.
