Truly a loss for all mankind. During this holiday season, I give thanks to the 10 chapters Ancho did provide and the joyful entertainment they gave to the world. Wherever he may be and whatever he now does, let us hope he earns the rewards too few showed him for this fun and original game.

I was just charged by Patreon for Ancho's sub. Could this be an early Xmas gift????
Plot Twist, it's the Grinch, except the power of Christmas will not compel Patreon to give you your money back. Hell, Patreon might even help them load even more money into the bag.

There is sadness in the air today. He has made it official...

I'll try to keep this short if not sweet. It's been over a year since life changes put Fantasy Valley's further development on hold. I promised myself if it got to this point, I'd do the reasonable thing and call it quits here on the Patreon page rather than keep hopes up indefinitely like so many abandoned projects do.

My time remains overbooked. My creative spark remains missing in action. And with AI proving it's potential in coding, story telling, and even art creation... my motivation remains crushed.

I'm sorry I didn't have the heart to do this sooner. I'm sorry to have not responded to messages. And I'm very sorry to become yet another incomplete early access project that bit off more than it could chew.

To live is to learn. And this project, albeit incomplete, has taught me a lot. I'll be forever grateful to all of you for your support, encouragement, concern, and criticisms (constructive and otherwise :) . I sincerely hope Fantasy Valley has entertained you.

Best wishes to you all.

Wow. Not the news I was hoping for. Thanks, Ignatz for posting this. To never see the MC and Morgan have a proper scene together feels terrible.

Here is to 2023 bringing us some good games boys. RIP to Fantasy Valley.

What does AI have to do with anything lol, it´s not like people are using AI to make porn games. Oh well, i loved the game but it´s common for this projects to never finish. GG

They are though. It's been going on for at least a couple months already. You haven't seen the several on this site already? People are pretty quick to point out when something's AI generated. Telltale signs include: clothes/hair/accessors that never appear to be the same in different scenes, hands are fucked up or constantly out of view, eyes are eerily similar between all characters, etc

Really hoping this doesn't mean the end for Ancho as a working Developer overall. Even if FV is truly gone, I don't think he needs to disappear. He's a serious talent in this industry, I just wish he could have had more eyes from this community on this project.

It sucks that its for sure dead now, but I really still would like to see Ancho put the game on steam or something. I'd really hate to see the work he put in go completely to waste or be lost forever. Everyone who agrees should go let him know over on his patreon while the chance still remains that he'll check it. We can't let him waste this. Its too good for that.

Chapters 1-10 or "Book 1" of Fantasy Valley definitely feel like something I'd gladly pay $10 or $20 to support with, it's a solid chunk of quality material. I definitely agree with this sentiment.

Basically people are using programs to generate artwork and a number of them is trying to claim credit or outright sell art that a machine spat out. It's pissing off a lot of artists because it's starting to displace actual man-made art. At this stage, it's more of a nuisance because of its sheer volume, but if it gets good enough to outright replace man-made art, a lot of artists are going to be out of work and their efforts honing those skills will have been pointless.

As for another dev taking over the game, I certainly hope not. I much rather see people make something new than try to fill the shoes of someone else.
