Let's be honest. This whole universe rests on one pillar, whose name is Monica Buckfett. The second pillar (the smaller one) is Melanie. Take away that pillar, and the universe disappears, including all the assholes and perverts who inhabit it.

I think deep down, none of us want to part with Monica forever, and if after Fashion Business is finished (I hope it's a full 16 updates of Episode 4) DM decides to do a spin-off on Fashion Business, I'm sure many players will be very happy about it. For example, this spin-off could show the story of a young Monica Buckfett becoming the owner of Fashion Magazine, or it could be a look at the events of the FB storyline, shown from a different perspective. In general, it could be anything at all, as long as Monica Buckfett is in this game. There must always be a Lich King.There must always be a Monica Buckfett.

I don't think a prequel could work. If he wants to stay consistent with the story in FB, Monica had very little sexual experience when the game started. What would that game contain ?
He could do a spin-off with her at the farm maybe, but I don't think that's allowed according with patreon rules, right?
And, to be honest, what do we really like about Monica? For me it's not her personality (more like a caricature than a real person) so if he created another world, with a good looking female MC, and an interesting personality, that would be a win for me.

I agree that the best thing to do is to keep going with Monica's Story. But if we talk about an hypothetical prequel, of course Monica's would be boring. But what about Victoria's ? Or maybe Philip's or Julia's ? :D

And for spin-offs, I won't enumerate all the interesting possibilities, but I repeat, the most important is the current storyline imo ^^

You know exactly what I want. ;) I want "The Farm" (in its Patreon-acceptable version), and preferably in episode 4, as a complete storyline. But if that doesn't happen, a spin-off with "The Farm" (without the moral constraints, as it was intended) that would be sold only on subscribestar.adult would also be great, though perhaps not as profitable as our "Fashion Business." As for profitability, though, that's a matter of opinion. Seath Black has managed to get his games to pay good dividends. I see no reason why the talented DecentMonkey couldn't. It's more of a marketing issue, which is entirely solvable.

Continue the story from the "true" ending, could be one of the dark endings like her being a street whore.

Multiverse style where something at the start of the game ends, like husband divorces her and she losing everything but she is still a famous model etc

A prequel wouldn't make sense as theres no sex but the same story from one of the other characters POV could be good.

Or continue the good ending where she gets the magazine or revenge but magazine is now global in a new country/city and she's pressured by the board to do things or a much bigger company takes it over.

I wonder what 8 new endings are waiting for us? Monica is the head of a strip club (Claire and Ashley), the head of a magazine, a housewife (Julia), the head of prostitutes, a VIP escort. What else? Maybe bdsm slave, Victoria's slave (Melanie)?

I was responding to the poster who wanted a prequel with Monica in it. I agree that there are quite a few prequels that could be interesting. Victoria and Julia would be my least favorite as I can't really stand the characters. But Philip, maybe even Steve and how he got to have a VIP escort service. Melanie could also be interesting and popular. She could have had to do some questionable things to get a top model. We already know that she had to go through Monica's humiliating interview, in the style she had at the start.
But for me, if it takes one-two more years to finish the story I think I will be ok with the amount of content in this universe. Unless a Farm sequel occurs I would be interested to see the story of a completely new and interesting female character. maybe in the same country with questionable laws and corrupt people in power that could place that female character in problematic situations.
For me a current problem with the game, that has nothing to do with the storyline is that at the start it was a grindfest sandbox style that had a lot of avenues (most of which were not really continued - I look at you big debt to Perry or whatever her name is) and now it's just a go to a certain place to activate event and that's it, could easily be a choice based VN game.
I hope whatever new game DM will develop will have a certain style and stick to it.

Don't attribute to me wishes I didn't have. I suggested that it might have been, referring to 2 hypothetical spin-offs based on our game, but I was automatically written off as a "fan of a spin-off about a young Monica starting her career". No, that's not true, I'm not a fan of that. As long as any possible sequel of Fashion Business (in the form of a spin-off or a full-length sequel) with the Monica Buckfett character is made by DecentMonkey, I will be interested in that game. (As long as it's not a vanilla game). And no, I don't think DM will decide to create a spin-off about a young and naive Monica on her way to her future success.

Yes, I said that, and it's true. I also clarified in a previous post that there will be no spin-off about young Monica, so everything I said still stands.( I'm on board as long as it's not a vanilla game and as long as the creator is DM). What else don't you understand?

This will be my last reply on this as to not spam the topic with our discussion.
For me everything is very clear, I think you are the one that are confused.
At the moment of me posting the first time, from your post, as I quoted above, you mentioned a prequel (spin-off) with a young Monica and you also stated that you wanted/needed for Monica to be in the game. So, I didn't attribute to you wishes you didn't have, you expressed them quite clearly in that post. That's what me, quoting your post meant.
The fact that you later on changed your mind and stated something else is clear but was not in discussion. Your "everything I said still stands" doesn't make sense as your two posts are in contraction with one another so they both can't "stand".

Anyways, I don't think DM will make another game in the same world / with Monica in it so everything we talk about is just talk.
