I have been following the game for over two years now and in that time his updates have always been spaced from around 40 days to the next being around 50 days. This 40 day followed by a 50 day wait has been consistent with only his break mid last year followed by his hospitalisation delaying the cycle. He informed everyone well in advance last year of his break. This update looks like it will be around 60 days from version 8. This version release was an expected 40 day cycle.

Unless he had a personal issue like an illness or family problem it looks as if he took some extended time off during the Christmas, new year period. If any developer deserved a break it is Decent Monkey.

The only issue is that he acted as if it was going to be business as usual in late December. He gave an early status update around Christmas with the spoiler on new years eve. Many patreons who were in the $20 or $30 range would have expected an update in January. He and almost anyone associated with the game development went radio silent for a couple of weeks in early January and suddenly all were back a few days before this last spoiler.

So in the end this delay is only 10 days longer than his 50 day cycle. I think us fans of the game have it pretty good. Imagine If Decent Monkey developed this game like L&P does with A Wife And Mother. They are going so nuts with the endless wait for a new render of the said wife and mother's thigh they are discussing the meaning behind a missing handbag from the latest teaser.

Maybe his collaboration in Milfs of Sunville production has caused these delays. I hope he returns to his former routine. That's a good game too but FB is my nomber one

It seems that the new game has effected the volume of content per update. Though he claimed with the last update he was still not at his 100% workflow yet since his illness.
Why he started working on a new game through this period only he could answer.

What I'm asking myself is if the new game will became his main game soon, because of the great reception that it's getting: it already has 700 patrons. Although, DM isn't the writer of that game, so I think his preference for Fashion Business will remain until its end.

Yes I was aware of the reasons for the new game. I was questioning why he would take on the extra work during a period that he is recovering from a serious illness. He could of delayed work on the new game until he recovered.

One big factor in favour of Fashion Business staying his number 1 priority is that it is the game he chose to make. I agree that it will most likely remain his preference.This new game as you stated is a response to Steam banning Fashion Business.

Personally, I think all that story about a team working on a new game is just Decent Monkey's ruse. Maybe he is paying some guy to write the story for MILFs of Sunville, probably not. Of course, Decent Monkey couldn't publically say, "Sorry, guys, I'm opening a second Patreon account because I want more money, so new updates are going to be smaller and less frequent, but you have to pay me the same amount every month."

I don't know about you, guys, but everything about that new game screams of Decent Monkey - the pictures, how the Patreon account is organized (with all those horrible extra versions), the design of girls, the interface... Every fucking thing.

My guess is that Decent Monkey was scared of being banned from Patreon and at the same time wanted to make more money (all those Steam efforts prove it). He created a completely new account and is developing a new game. It is very comfortable for him - it is better to have 2 accounts because this way he can make more money, and he is hiding behind some "team" so there would be no outrage among his patrons.

More than that I think that all that story about his sickness was also a lie. Considering the time when he was "sick" (about the same time when someone had to be very busy developing MILFs of Sunville), he was actually developing the initial materials for MILFs of Sunville - assets, the design of girls, maybe even the story - the stuff that takes a lot of time and effort to make. So he had no time to work on Fashion Business and he said he was sick.

And now because he doesn't have enough time to develop two games at the same time, there are delays, smaller updates and he is even "forgetting" about spoilers.

hi, i wonder if my game is glitched because i couldn't keep up with the walkthrough... i'm on EP 2. i can't meet Dick after giving the money to Victoria, it says he's out with her and same goes for Biff, it says he'll return the next day but he doesn't. i can't do any shootings and the only storyline i could follow was at home with Betty and her stepson. nothing else happens! my quest log says the Go To The Gym With Betty has a blank mark, but i can't mark it even though i finished her storyline past that point. just finished Eric's Passion with betty. one more thing, I couldn't work as a mannequin. the option to steal wasn't available... not sure what to do, my Monica is on Decent path. oh yea, i had no money so i had to cheat to buy the dress.

* UPDATE * : just figured out. had to go to him (Dick) in the morning to continue the storyline, i guess i just never tried it since i was doing house chores too much during morning. my bad! the game is working just fine now!

the first one is rly good. up until now i played without tips and got lost at what choices do in the game, and if being bitchy had any real consequence on scenes. it says it adds more scenes... i cant stand her bitchy side, she gives me headache. for now i'll stick with the less annoying one then after i get to ep 3 i can go for the alternative scenes. anyways, thx for the links! =)

If someone is interested in "gallery mod", you can "mod" the game pretty easily yourself (there is mod from Scrappy, but still for v7). The in-game gallery/achievements system can be changed so that all replays are available (if you have 720p version then Extras will play but with black screen as there are no images for Extras in 720p version!).

Look for Achievements.rpy (it's in game/Quests folder). Find function check_achievement. Change it from

In fact you may remove everything after "retrun True" but there is no reason to remove it and one good reason to keep: it will be easy to restore previous state (just remove the added line).

You may need to remove Achievements.rpyc for it to work - it will be recreated with new content from Achievements.rpy.

it does add more content if u are bitchy
but if u are a gallery hunter like me
u simple need to replay the game several times
cos there are also gallery for a decent monica

If someone has the saves from the previous version, I would appreciate it if they could pass them on to me since I had a problem on the PC and everything was erased and I have lost everything in this game, all the progress if I can't do it this way I'll have to leave it and that's it Don't play anymore because you can't start over, and by answering questions you lose everything you've achieved in bitch and perversion.
