You have to understand that not everyone is at the same stage of grief as you:
denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance

Oh, on the topic of off topic. Very few posts get removed from the Girl Life thread, I haven't noticed any over the last couple of years but mostly the thread does stay on topic so hard to compare directly.

But at the same time, Girl's Life provides enough content, with DEEP content updates close enough together that finding something 'else' to discuss gets kind of difficult at times. Not to mention that the "team" working on GL are rather active with the community and you can find a back-and-forth interaction addressing most of those 'off topic' issues BEFORE they become a large issue overall.
So, good flow of updates, nice addition of content, active participation with community.... GL discussions tend to stay 'on topic' because that is the way a project should be handled with the fanbase. Not a 'reboot', then a 'format change', followed by one delay after another like FA tends to do.

Also unsurprisingly, threads with many off-topic posts have many off-topic posts deleted for being off-topic (and then on-topic posts deleted because they contain references to the off-topic posts). That's the way moderation works.
It would be interesting to compare dollar-per-word-published compensation for developers of games like FA or New Life or Witch Hunter Trainer are compared to that of a professional novel writer. Would someone like Steven King change careers if he knew?

Stephen King porn game when?
Seeing as writers sometimes write using a pen name to try something different than what they're known for, what do you think a good SK Porn game writing name could be?
Stephen Kink? Stefani Kink? (for that feminine touch) Though I suppose he could start writing it as Richard Bachman, even though that's known already to be a pen name for him.
I kind of would like a horror porn game in Stephen King style. I do like his writing. Of course, it being Stephen King, he'd actually finish the thing and not get as much money writing his porn games, not understanding the point isn't to finish it if you want to make money, but just keep giving people tidbits to keep them donating to you.
Of course, with his prolific writing style, he could write and finish 10 porn games, and just slowly feed his patrons tidbits until each game 'finished' being made (say 7 years per game) and if he dies mid milking, his family can take over the milking business by 'finding' his lost completed games, and get paid to 'search' for more of SK's 'lost' games...

Stephen King was already pretty smutty as is. Take into account some of his works like, say, The Lawnmower Man, or that one specific sewer scene in It that is always censored for horribly obvious reasons. He'd probably get banned off of Patreon asap.

Yeah, that sewer scene got me when I was little. I was like, wait, they're my age.... and they're doing.. that? Was my first Stephen King book because it was in a big pile of my mom's books.
Lol no - I'm at acceptance. I accept that the creator of the game is milking it either intentionally or unintentionally is pointless to debate. But as is this game is not moving forward and will fail to provide for the original premise it was going to have. I hop in here literally about every 3 months. Regardless, people that worship the creator in his discord need to realize that just because they support this creator and game, doesn't mean everyone posting in here does.

Hey guys! This week, I finished the main writing draft for this episode. At last!
This episode has been through some contortions to reach its final form. In each version, the same plot events take place, but it took me a few tries to make them take place in an engaging way. I'm happy with it now.
I transcribed my draft into a storyboard, organised into 328 passages.
The final step is to convert the storyboard into working game code so you can play it!
Next week, our lovely illustrator Victoria and her production assistant Jeff Monke will be hard at work creating the final art assets, and I'll be hard at work coding the storyboard scenes into the engine. 1.15 will be in Early Access Soon™.
Okay, that's all that happened this week! I'll work hard and do as much as I can next week, and will report back next weekend. Have an awesome Sunday. ❤

This dude'd make more money with less effort if he just sold storyboards to his patrons rather than the game.
Hell, he should start including storyboard pdfs in his patreon backer tiers and milk it even harder.
Oh come on. That's not fair. You KNEW there was going to be yet another excuse for yet another delay at this point. This is like being upset that the sun came up on Monday and Tuesday when it comes up EVERY day. (ROFL)
Seriously though? THIS is the excuse we are going to get for yet another delay? Wasn't the last update praising himself (yet again) about the amount of work he was already putting into the next update? NOW we got to find out that he is having to "code it all in" AND there is a "team" of people working on the avatar that...... Remind me again, what purpose DOES the avatar have other than just standing there with the occasional lack of clothes and odd expression?
So... ten weeks for an "Ultimate Final Master Mk3" storyboard for one (!) scene? Any real media production company would fire a lazy bum like that, without a care in the world if he's technically a perfectionist idiot who flat-out refuses to learn to work to a deadline.

Probably best thjat he's self-employed, then. There are usually a lot more than one scene per update, as well, so your starting assumption is likely false.

- Returns to the Hard Cock Cafe to carry out a mission tasking, while also carrying out her work as a topless barmaid

These were the scenes according to earlier post. I guess that "new sex scene" is the one that's being made this week. Hopefully the others stays and not put out due to the recent change of plans.

The new episode is what is being made this week. The idea that it's one scene was just made up by Arkady. Crush mentions "scenes" (plural) in the update posted up-thread. There is no recent change of plans that I am aware of. What they are working on this week is making the clothing needed and transferring the story into the game engine.

Hey guys! This week I transferred the storyboard into the game engine. Episode 1.15 is now written and (basically) working!
Don’t get it right, get it written
When writing this episode, instead of trying to get every scene exactly right, I sometimes used rough/placeholder text instead. (Example: in one scene I wrote “Add zingy banter” instead of actually figuring out the dialogue. This allowed me to keep working on the events in the scene, instead of stopping to think up some zingy banter.)
There are 46 such placeholders in the new episode: some are just single lines, some need a few paragraphs. I’m going to blast through these next, as fast as I can. Also, some team and community volunteers kindly gave feedback on the storyboards (thanks Behbeh, Koskesh, Falloutbabe, Thorson, Z794, Maid.Queen.Mariam, Amy and some anonymous heroes) which I want to incorporate.
There are also some art tasks outstanding. Hopefully I can get all this done next week (and start Early Access at the weekend). But I might need to run into the following week. I'll do my best.
Storyboards
Last week Anand and Kuroppey asked for more info on how the storyboarding process works. Basically we have a simple template set up in Google Slides, which looks like this:
This design helps curb my tendency to ramble and overwrite (because I run out of space if I type too much). Some text-based games hit you with long walls of words – I’ve always wanted Female Agent to be pithy, although I rarely write as lean as I wish.
Contributors can add comments directly onto the slides. Our illustrator lovely Victoria can see what clothes are required and what the context is – over time she pastes avatar images (and suggested facial expressions) into the scenes. Soon a typical storyboard slide looks more like this:
Note here an example of feedback that led to a direct improvement – in the original version of this scene, I was lazy and glossed over the scene where the heroine (who we call “Kate”) passes through Thai customs. Dissonant Soundtrack called me on this, so I added some dialogue where Kate explains her cover legend (also reïterating it to the player), and an optional “stripsearch” scene that can trigger if Kate is unlucky with her dice roll.

If indeed things stagnate because of trying to write then doing storyboarding, then this is a very much needed approach that should be used more often. I like to write without diverting efforts to any other task, in the venue that works best for me and not necessarily in a layout itself. I don't believe that writing is served well by being part of a multitasking effort, and I could see how progress could be essentially impossible for anyone who tried to write while working on storyboards.
Or, if instead this is saying that completing a scene is chaining together a series of statements such as "they talk, they have foreplay, they have sex, they talk," then I could see why that would result in troubles in development as well. If one expects a plot framework to read sexily without complete dialogue, that's not likely to happen. I've seen many frustrated people who want a perfect complete product 5 seconds after they start anything, which obviously isn't going to happen in most instances. The frustration from this generally results in way more than 5 seconds of unhappy development time of course.

The writing of a complete and (mostly) finalized script and then converting it to storyboards is how every movie and TV show works. That's not what Crush is actually doing, though. Hos "storyboards" are just alpha versions of the game slides. You can do that when still refining the writing, because part of the writing refinement process is getting the right amount of text on the slide.
