James Bond has never worked in a brothel as a common prostitute and never will, he may be a womanizer, a murderer, but at least he has some self-respect. Only a woman who has no self-respect would agree to go through the kind of scenario presented in FA, and one who is smart, skilled and well educated enough to be recruited by an intelligence agency would no doubt have some.
more complex than that. For example, the kunoichi (female ninjas) were involved in information gathering... and being a courtesan (high rank prostitute) was a good way to approach somebody important.

In our times, some special services still uses women spies in that way. For example, the famous sex spies girls in Russian. A french minester was caught telling some state secrets to such a woman in bedroom time. General DeGaulle was very sarcastic when the minester in question came back...

Usually, it doesn't work that way. For example, a "treatment agent" remarks a man who is in place to gather some data, like a financist. This financist is tested (to check his fiabilty...) and contacted... and several offers are made (money, patriotism, dept erase, pressures like haveing him on picture fucking a sheep, etc...).
In this game, it would make better sense the main protagonist is a "normal" backpacker girl, with a past of promiscuity, observed and tested by an intelligence service which will finally make the mission proposal.
You'll have to have several meetings with your treatment agent, who will monitor the mission and gives you orders. Of course, you're not involved in all the secrets, and special tasks like hacking the cctv system is not done with you (you truly see a full intelligence service, with network specialists, involving a person exterior to the service to do such a delicat task ? no way !)

Yes, but being just an outsider giving some intel from time to time is not as interesting as being a full fledged spy. Ingame, the explanation is that they have already tried having a backpacker inside, but she dissapeared so the agency sent you for a more direct approach.

I feel like you are missing the bigger issue here. There was already a full background story that worked fine, to just change that and create a different one pushes what is already a ludicrous production process beyond that in to the realms of insanity.

The problem I have is something I have said before and that is that the intro was fine, its the whole bar work thing that doesn't fit.

There are solutions of course, you can have the agency identify a recruitor for the brothel as a regular at the bar. With intelligence having traced previous workers to the brothel so that it is a known means of workig there.

Or you could make it a fucking game (I know, the notion seems foreign now) and have several casual jobs, with restriction based on how much the PC is willing to do inversly correlating to how much reputation she earns. This would lead to having to work for a time in various different and progressily more sexually depraved jobs with player choice and a clear goal. Then you throw in some fixed and random events which can help or hinder progress with the skills from the intro playing a part in some. It might be more fun than a bad romance novel.

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet this week, I’ve been working my ass off trying to complete this episode’s storyboard.
It was quite demanding (sorry to everyone who’s waiting for replies from me, I've been frazzled ), and some parts are still very rough, but

Plotting vs Pantsing
Some writers argue about whether it’s better to be a plotter (planning the story first) or a pantser (just jumping in and writing it). Personally, I think you need a mix of both approaches to be productive.
I really wanted the last episode to come out fast so I rushed the plotting stage – I made a quick plan in my head, and jumped in my Pantser tank just as fast as I could. But it didn’t work out: by week 7, my Pantser tank was stuck in the mud, and I had to do a rewrite. Trying to speed things up had actually slowed things down.

Lesson learned
This episode, I spent more time planning. Storyboarding is time consuming but having a completed storyboard helps in these ways:

  • I can share it with team members and contributors, and get feedback/new ideas earlier in the process. (Often someone brainy has a great idea, but by the time they’re seeing the draft it’s almost ready to release and I don’t get time to include it.)
  • Our illustrator lovely Victoria has a clearer idea of what art assets will be needed.
Most importantly it reduces the risk that a rewrite will be needed, because I’ve spent time thinking through the scenes and making sure there’s enough hotness to make it a good player experience.
I’ve got a good feeling about this episode – I realised that I’m eager to play it (two scenes in particular ), which must be a good sign.

Next steps
I’m now ready to start work on creating the first scene of the new episode in the game engine. I’ll start this on Monday.
Having the storyboard ready early gives us a chance to make better use of the contributors; I’m going to ask them for targeted ideas and feedback, which will hopefully make the next episode better than usual.
Okay, that’s it for this week! Have a lovely weekend, guys, and I’ll see you on Discord or back here next week.

Maybe the old Pantser is the problem. Nutluck uses a M1A1 Abrams and just slays the writing every week. Sure his grammar could be better and its all in American but it doesn't take much to fix that.

It does not much matter what it is called. Just do what needs to be done, and people will understand. If the things that need to be done are not done, people will not understand.

I agree. the game plot is already setted, and things works. Changing all the stuff will cost too lot.

Didn't he create a storyboard years ago for this very purpose and he ended up scrapping it along with the entire prologue?
I'm going to chalk this up as another "Crush wastes time creating a system that he claims will streamline his glacial writing style, but is too lazy and/or incompetent to bother implementing it.”

no Download includes all, there are 3 different versions. The first game ( version 1.6.3), the lifepath version ( if I remember correctly 1.11.1 is the latest for the lifepath and the jump forward to Bangkok (current 1.15.1). But the lifepath and Bangkok will hopefully be reunited sooner than later , 1.6.3 is a good one but a dead end.

No, they're created for each episode. You can read more about storyboards on .

[Episode 1.16] Resolving the cliffhanger

Hey guys! This week I started building the new episode in the game engine. It’s really exciting to see it starting to come to life!
The opening scene resolves the cliffhanger ending from the last episode, and is an important plot development.
I find this kind of scene challenging to write, because it’s all about emotion and dialogue (and, as everybody knows, I’m more comfortable writing about food and transport).
That said, I’m excited about how it’s going and I'm excited about the rest of this episode. It feels hot and fresh and interesting.
Storyboard feedback from team and the community members has been positive, and they suggested some really excellent improvements already. I think 1.16 is going to be a good one.

This week elmagio slid into my DMs and asked:
I remember that back in the day, the plan was that once the Agent got to Bangkok, the game would open up and become almost an open world sandbox with a variety of locations and events/activities to partake in at those locations as the player sees fit. I'm curious to know if that's still the plan?

The issue is that this will get horribly complex if there isn’t a stable “base state” for the heroine to return to after each mini-quest.
It’s kind of like Mass Effect: Shepard gets access to the galaxy map once s/he’s a Spectre with a mission and command of the SSV Normandy. The player can hit the galaxy missions in any order; they’re returned to this base state (Spectre, mission, Normandy) after each one.
In Female Agent, the base state will be achieved when the heroine is working as a bargirl. Then we’ll be able to add a variety of sex, spy and NPC quests.
Like Mass Effect, these will be a mix of quickie side quests, and big set-piece missions that advance the story. Some of the quests I’ve got outlines for include:
  • Club quests: hired for sex by various club patrons; entertaining groups in the VIP; doing solo or girl/girl stage shows; general dramas and emergencies at work
  • Kriangsak quests: working for Kriangsak’s escort agency; dates with Kriangsak and his contacts
  • Gang quests: investigating the organised crime gang that’s enmeshed with the club
  • Mission quests: carrying out spy taskings for the Joint Task Force
  • Location quests: training at a muay thai fight camp; visiting beaches & islands; getting involved in the illegal street racing scene; various cool places with quest chains like a charter airport and a gambling barge ; exploring the city and the country
  • NPC quests: spending time with friends, foes and frenemies
Some people have raised concerns that there’s nothing interesting left to do once the heroine starts working undercover as a hooker. I totally disagree, I can’t wait to get to that point, there's so much we can do with it.

But first, we need to get the heroine there. I’m going to get back to work on the present episode, and I’ll report on progress next week. Have an awesome weekend, guys, I love you all!
