for change, we can talk about game instead dairy farms, release's deadlines, broken words...
and what we have there: disappointment
first, it is very important to say that i didn't expect masterpiece like john le carre meets digital playground but initial stage excitment about storyline lead us to believe we are going to have decent text based porn game.
we were anxious to see bangkok and... omg... nothing, or (to be fair) almost nothing.
short summary:
- basic idea: excellent
- abandoned mc history from birth until employment: interesting but not much impact
- abandoned preparation for mission in scotland/dubai: more than ok
- bangkok: wtf has happened??? one would expect story explosion after years of preparation but no. no, no
it is evident that dev has problems in story department. put aside milking, whole current bangkok content could easily be written in period between last two updates. my guesses are: either crush has no idea how to develop story in bangkok or he has idea which is not good for him because it is short and will lead game to its end soon.
instead working on story, in desperate attempt to extend life of the game (his incomes), crush is painfully molesting players with endless redesigns of avatar, wardrobe, make-up... which have no impact on game and mostly you cannot see what you choose (eyeliners, lipstick...). it is pretty safe to let your little daughter/sister play with wardrobe changing, as some kind of mini in-game "dress your virtual barbie doll", but storywise it leads nowhere
all this would be different if he was making game in daz hq renders. but he is making text based game and he is run out of text and can't offer nothing except playing with barbie dolls
i understand that writing text based novel is much more difficult than writing dialogues for renders, because there is no graphics to save your bad writing or extend the game lifespan if you have no material. and crush has no material. what he is doing is making full season content out of material for 1 episode.
bangkok story is like idle tourist walking around bangkok, talking with hostel guests (which totally disappeared after initial bangkok update), where you are carefully choosing answers to see which guest will like/love or dislike your answers. but anything you choose leads you nowhere in developing relations with these guests or thai boy noodles and his friends. these charachters (hostel guests mainly) and all interactions with them are useless.
now it is time to talk about choices of mc's actions/dialogue on game. most important, is this choice based game? no it is not. mostly choices have no impact on game. only impact is are you aborting the mission or continuing. choosing attributes and kinks can give you couple more answer choices but in the end they do not make changes on game development neither.
more pointless choices: throwing of dices like this is some virtual board game is riddiculous and leads nowhere.
from my pow, crush should make this game as mostly kinetic novel with only few choices, significant ones. e.g. moving mc to dark side or stay loyal agent, corrupt her to become prostitute or keep her as it is.
but crush will continue with business as usual: delays, changes of avatar, removing/adding items in wardrobe, cosmetics choices, stretching text as chewing gum... and mostly, instead working on game, being active on social networks and extending game's lifespan as much as possible. and who can blame him when hostages are pampering his non-work with crazy amount of money every month
