Originally the various skills and traits from the prologue would send you down differing branches in the main game
If i understood right, they'd simply provide some (small) bonuses or extra options to deal with situations, nothing as ambitious as actual different branches. E.g. if MC had more random hookups and thus higher "sex skills" then she'd be less likely to gag when made to deepthroat, or she'd have easier time holding the fence during breakup if physically fit, etc.

Is there something wrong with the latest version?

None of the elements are placed correctly, is there a missing css file or something? Both the torrent and the online versions aren't working.

I really like this game, i can understand people could enjoy some updated better than others but to me its great. I really enjoy every update. Guys, dont kill me! ;)
I'm with you, I've always loved the scenario and think crush is a great writer (when he writes lol.) It's just the slowness and lack of direction that gets people cheesed off.

I don't mind it being a linear CYOA, I grew up with gamebooks and still love em, but I do think there's opportunity to make it less so if he would just look at some of the other HTML games out there. The game needs open hubs and an economy with pressure and some variables to build up for a sense of player progression.

He can't even get multiple nationalities working. This game has been around for years and in the beginning there were more options hinted at and never got that one done. And that barely requires any branching. It's basically just a different start until you end up in Scotland for the training sessions.

Imagine if he had to deal with a semi-open world thing that he was promising at one point.

lol, this is such a weird update.
freaking out about giving a blowie when Connor has already fucked you...4-5 times at this point, once even taking you to the back with the rest of the prostitutes, is just weird. Especially since it's already established you have free reign to fuck anyone for anything if it helps the mission...she should have already had this moment of panic and worked through it by now many times over.
this scene would make far more sense if it played out during the first scene with Connor, when he takes you back to his place.
I'v always felt like it jumps to him fucking you far too fast, would make more sense as a blowjob/facefuck, Connor seems smart enough to not scare chicks off by moving too fast. He would definitely push for sex intitially, on the off-chance the girl is desperate enough to fuck him, but if she resists he'd go with some manner of "whatever bitch, i'll be balls deep in you eventually anyway. suck me off instead then"

Choices and dice roles don't really affect anything in this game, right now... I think...
A couple of choices you get to make can enable/disable some extra scenes (like a yoga session with bargirls, or some side activities down the road which have yet to be added) but that's about it.

Other than him being bad at writing, it's probably for the same reason he went back and modified the original scene with the drug dealer: some people whined\complained (for example the guy that complained about her being "too sexual" a few posts back), he bent over, he made the scene "avoidable".. and now you have this scene where she freaks out for no rational reason. He's probably on the process of breaking maybe the only interesting part of this game, but no surprise there .

Honestly, while I was bothered by the update's content at first (for the reasons I and others stated, seems out of left field) I think the second, polished version which included choices about internal dialogue handling why the beejay was hitting her hard, as well as the other new scene involving yoga in the park, did a lot to redeem what was there for me. There's still the issue of whether the content was enough to justify the time to produce, but I thought what wound up in the final version, was good.

I haven't played the other version, but imo this sounds like applying a bandage to a broken bone. It might look less scary, but ultimately it won't fix anything.

Unless he stops making each update isolated from the others (right know this is barely a game but rather a series of independent scenes), it is only a matter of time until something like that happens again. He needs to introduce some variables (like slutiness) and make them actually change something over the course of the game and not just the next few sentences or outright say that this isn't a game and admit that your "choices" don't mean anything so people know what to expect.

Has anyone got a save before the yoga scene? I didn't take the yoga option on the birthday weekend update and can't be arsed playing through from there just to see it

Isolating the episodes really is part of the bigger problem. The fact that he introduced working titles/episode titles for the updates kind of tells you where is mindset is. He is writing chapters for a book, not scenes for a game that is supposed to be multiple choice, choice based or whatever you want to call it.

As far as the variables go, I don't think he needs to introduce anything at this point. There are plenty of stats and skills in the game. He never uses them. That is the issue. There is one mechanic, apart from the kinks, that has been there from the beginning and that is the "XYZ liked/disliked your answer" thing. Except it never does anything. Never did and with how linear the story is, I can't see it ever having an impact, because what would it change? Would it lock you out of content? Shitstorm incoming. Everything else has been introduced, because he liked the idea, but never did anything with outside the introduction of said mechanic.

Would it make sense to introduce variables like sluttiness, corruption, etc? Yes. Much more than having skills like motorbike experience, or piano lessons. But that would require him to write different scenes multiple times, because the outcome should be different based on certain combinations. Can you imagine how long it would take him? Also it would require planning ahead. Need I say more?

It's not an actual mechanic. If you look at the code, it's just him putting in the red/green color and saying someone (dis)liked a response. It doesn't change a variable or get saved for future use; it's just flavor text.

No, I don't see it happening either. I have zero expectations for this game.

This (or anything really that connects the different episodes) is just something that imo would be essential to make this feel more like a game rather than a mere listing of isolated scenes that happen to have the same people in it.

To be exact, there's couple instances early on where the game also tries to alter a field for given character which is supposed to accumulate these instances. Except it's bugged (the field is never initialized so it's NAN and trying to add/subtract from it fails), most of the character objects don't even have this field, and very shortly any such attempts stop altogether. Impossible to say if it was put off "to be implemented later, i.e. never" or dropped for good.
