It always begins like that, from "we're one step away from release" to weeks passing by due to sudden problems. Let's see if this time we'll be lucky.

It will be around Christmas time. Like always and like every dev does. Raking in that sweet money to be able to afford all the presents.

In other notes: Why did I not know Blue Swallow existed? It is basically FA, starting with the college lifepath thingy and so far it is great and dare I say it, it looks like development is much faster than FA. Give it a go, if you liked that part of the game. They actually included a lot of choices and the way they did it, is something I haven't seen before.

Hey guys! Short report, because everything's moving smoothly: I'm working on edits, our illustrator lovely Victoria is working on art.
I had lots of good feedback from story testers! Their suggestions are helping me punch up various moments. But generally, everybody seems to like the new episode! I hope you guys will too

Still, he's been promising the three optional events for more than a year (was supposed to finish all three by last xmas), so maybe he does really have clear outlines for them. It would be a nice surprise, if he delivered something quicker than expected.

Hgames are a massive failspace

You will only get disappointment because the whole thing has become toxic and people continue to enable it.

What earns best is get a thing, get some traction, get a monthly, never finish.

As long as people continue to debate and suggest and on and on and on this, and when I say this I mean this hgame failed environment, will continue to disappoint, and become something to more effectively exploit and disappoint. The only fix now is fire. That's just it.

My feelings exactly. Even professional devs with successful non-scam projects often end up extending development indefinitely. This anonymized open-ended crowdfunding environment creates a lot of incentives for scammy behaviors, unwitting or not.

Yesterday I played in the latest version of "Being a DIK" and the diffesence with "Female agent" so massive in content, general approach, branching (routes) amount that I'm shocked.
From my point of view text games has a worse visual than standard visual novels, but they have different strengths like more routes, more complicated mechanics and they are much easy to develop, because you haven't render each location specifically - just use your imagination and text.

What I wanted to say, that I had a hope that in some time in the future Female agent transforms into the game that we deserve with a lot of branches, minigames, interesting mechanics and a lot more content, but now I understand that this hope is a massive delussion.

Being a DIK was started 2 years later, Our red strings 3 years later and they both have more content, real branching, unique mechanics and they are visual novels, not a text quest.

I don't believe anymore in this game. It's just another Yandere dev story

Considering the development time, i wish the dev just beeline the main plot and forget all the side quests, even branching options for that matter.

Just do a linear story that is both tense (when it's about spycraft) and hot.

I could not disagree more. If you just want a completely linear story experience, go read a book, or watch a movie. The whole reason to play a narrative focused game, is to have some ability to interact with the narrative.

Alternatively, having it on the computer allows to provide experience that isn't quite like watching a movie or reading a book, given there's a level of interactivity. That's why kinetic novels are an actual thing and not something universally shunned "cuz we already have movies and books".

To be fair, MC trying to figure out whether being in relationship with a girl, as opposed to just fucking around, is something for him, is one of major themes for BaDIK. So, with this context it does make sense for it to have a number of exclusive paths the player can pursue, if they so choose -- missing "fucking everyone" becomes very much the point.
