I guess I'll check back in on this thread in a year to find the same 3 or 4 suckers saying the same shit they've been saying for a year. While the game sits in basically the same spot, except that crush has made a bunch more promising patreon posts.

Seriously, page 60 in this thread is a year ago, go look at that and the past year of changelogs from the first post. Same game, same assholes making the same posts trying to defend getting ripped off by a scammer who wrote some pages of good porn.

I played this for the first time about six months ago, and really loved the game. It was the first game I found that was close to a story idea I had for developing a game. Ultimately, I was not confident in my skill yet (never did Renpy coding or Daz yet) to try this story, so I created a femdom game instead, but this kind of story is a great idea to me. If this game has truly not been updated well in that long (I have only read the thread so I don't know the objective history of the development) I am truly sad, because this was so fun to play for me.

As far as I remember, a lot of different systems, mechanics, and a sex engine with a generator are being developed now, which is not what Twine can give, and this is what It will probably limit.

You know, it's not so easy to implement in pure JS, let alone implement it in the framework of the engine...

This is true in all cases, but Twine is simply not designed for large and huge projects that also deviate from the concepts it provides. Anyway, that's what I see.

The latest "sex engine" Crush was developing was a very simple check property-random dice roll decision tree. Trust me, Twine is not an impediment to that.

I agree that Twine is not as transparent as it could be, and you kind of have to "force it" to accept raw JS in a relatively roundabout way, but it's not at all impossible.

Oh I know, I was mostly agreeing with you. What you mention is basically what I filed under "real time interaction". You can add timers and dynamically displays blocks of text in a Twine game, but it's true that the page refreshes are the default mechanic of Twine, and they can be annoying for certain things (and, on top of that, mixing Twine macros code with raw JS can be awkward)

What I'm trying to say is that, while Twine is definitely not the ideal option, the things Crush wants to do are not limited by his choice of engine. The #1 issue he's been running into is writer's block (that happened mostly because of feature bloat), not tech limitations.

No engine will tell you "Don't try to add and support 5 nationalities with 5 different origins from the moment you're born if you can barely make one relevant". A different engine might (well, in practice, not really, because there aren't engines specifically for sex games) make it easier to swap from "doggystyle" to "cowgirl", but again, Crush wrote a long post a while ago about how he wasn't happy with his choice of words to transition from one position to the other, which forced him to rewrite it again and again (by the way, that was for the Dubai scene, which is getting removed)

It's just that people like me and Crush have such problems, we think we see potential difficulties, and it seems that if they are not solved first, it will be a disaster. You know, when I was thinking about creating a game, I realized that twine would limit me someday, and that made me give it up, in turn, I have to develop all systems from scratch, and instead of writing a game, I just keep coding, rewriting the code many times, because I don't like the way it's implemented, being a perfectionist sucks, because you're constantly annoyed about little things, it hurts.
