You can unpack the game files with 7-zip and examine the code in your ide of choice. I used visual studio and the source code was a mix of JavaScript and Tyranoscript, some kind of game building language.
Saves are not very fun in this game since it is the journey that is fun, not the destination. If you need a hint, I suggest casting a lot of spells in the start of the game, and defending a lot in the mid game
This game has almost no events in the traditional sense. The vast majority of the H content is in the combat system, and old scenes are no longer viewable after you've made progress. This game is one you'll actually have to play to get the full experience.
Actually, if you look at the front page, there's a link to a cheat save file (a bit out of date now but still usable) that covers most of the events you can get. I've checked and it works with v2.36.

Just a reminder that it's broken but only because of my inexperience with modding.
