Haha, someone likes their survival horror games XD the references here to Resident Evil and Silent Hill, hehe, even some music. Fun little game though

Never ever though this game could just get completed so far this quickly the first time i saw it published here, congratulations, but yes, by the right light and angle, it can look feminine, specially if the character isn't too much fit but average. Yes, Brad Pitt"bull" is considered handsome, but your model at some point looks more metro or like trans... For that reason i think many artist tend to draw or model characters with a bit of exaggeration of some qualities or giving them a face more rough to be differentiated without doubt.

Originally, I planned it to be longer. As you can see, there are a number of characters towards the end that don't really have much development, but you can sort of see glimpses of the themes of those characters. I just had a lot of frustration working with Honey Select 2 like the placement of the eyes or adjustments of the hand gestures. I want to go back to Daz where I have more control over the characters and the lighting and pretty much everything. Plus, I think I'm reaching the limit of how much I can differentiate the characters in HS2 while still keeping them attractive.

As for the femininity of the protagonist, yeah, I get it, he looks feminine, although I don't think it's too much. But it also has to do with the limits of HS2. The sliders controlling the facial proportions in HS2 go wonky when you push them too far, even though the facial proportions are still well within realistic limits. For example, if you try to make the mouth bigger, it would be stretched tangentially on the face instead of going along the shape of the face. I tried to make his jaw wider, which I think is a key component separating a male and a female face, but it just went out of shape. But I don't want to destroy his face to make him more "masculine". There's also the issue of hair that someone had brought up. I wanted to give him a middle-parted hair, but unfortunately this is the only one I have found, which is intended for girls, but all hairstyles are shared between boys and girls in HS2. There are just so many things that I want to do, but unable to in HS2.

Edit: Oh well, and the themes of the game, being horror and supernatural, it's not that suitable for a porn game. They are great for transition between scenes and exaggerated action scenes, which are fun to make, but I don't think that is what people are looking for in a porn game. So the themes are also something I want to change going forward.

I like action scenes as well, but the time required to make them is kinda disproportionally high considering the effect/reward. I'm rather impatient, so I really want the story to progress at a steady pace, but action scenes are kinda their own scenario that don't have many opportunities to advance the story. But, I will keep making action scenes in my next game, just perhaps not as intensive as this one.

Well yeah, I kinda toned down the references towards the end of the game. References are an obstacle to story development if you put in too many of them. I learned it the hard way. But well, this game is a great learning experience for me. I think it's good that I ended the game early, because I didn't set a good foundation to build up the game. But I have an idea for the next one.

It's a shame you feel that way. I think it'll probably hold back any future games to not have such a popular tag. Some of us even use the tag search function on a regular basis to avoid games without it (mostly for me because it tends to be a sign of a game having a decent amount of content). It's far from a deal breaker but it is one of my favorites and at this point I consider it more normal than much of a kink. However I wouldn't recommend someone who dislikes kinks to add them just to be popular because that's usually how you get poor quality content.

Also sad to hear you are ditching HS2 for DAZ. I am one of the few that prefers it but considering DAZ seems much more popular it's probably a good idea anyway.

It's really hard to explain why I feel repulsed by anal. I understand a lot of people like it. But like you said, I won't be able to make good content if I personally don't like it.

I suppose this game is a test on whether I should use HS2 or DAZ. HS2 certainly has its charms, which is why I chose to make my first game in it even though I am more experienced in DAZ. But there are just many limitations in HS2 that give me a lot of frustration. Maybe if I never touched DAZ or Blender, I wouldn't feel that HS2 is so inadequate. I don't know if it's noticeable from the perspective of the players, but there are already lots of things in terms of visuals in this game that I feel are not good enough, but I have no ways of improving or fixing them. There is a feeling of helplessness that there are so many things I want to improve, and I know how to improve, but it's simply not possible in HS2.

Well the thing is, a lot of horror games with porn have a tendency to focus more on the horror alone so the porn is just a side note, or they do the opposite and make a joke out of the horror elements. Its rather strange that there have been few games, (NTRPG2 and Runaway City being exceptions), exploring how lust, specifically unrestrained lust with no limits, is actually horrifying in the same way losing yourself can be.

Going with the SH theme, imagine a place where the "strange girls" faced by a male pc start out disturbing, if somewhat female, then gradually become more and more beautiful and human-like if the PC pursues his lust (perhaps controlled by a minigame that gets harder to show his resistance weakening). However as he does so, he begins to spend more and more time in the town, simply banging the "girls", and becomes more and more apathetic to everything else, even things that were very important.

The same thing could be done with a female pc, but instead she starts off even more heavily resisting, then gradually accepting the "strange guys" more and more, until eventually she intentionally stops fighting them off altogether, no longer caring about the important things in her former life just as the male pc stopped caring and embracing her prison as a paradise. Of course, this being Silent Hill inspired, there's some revelation at the end that both PCs are screwing far more horrific monsters then they look, and something horrible is happening to them as they do so, like becoming monsters themselves.

Long story short, its the classic "be careful what you wish for, because you may just get it." Horror and porn can go together, but I think devs tend to simply make it into "sexy monsters", or they just make a straight up horror game with some sex scenes, and they forget that anything as primal as sex can be destructive in the same way all our primal urges can be, like violence and hunger.

Anyways this isn't the only theme that could work, but I wanted to point out that you've pigeon-holed horror in porn in a way that really isn't the extent of what could be done with it.

Well the "careful what you wish for" theme is kind of already recurring in this game. The things that you suggested, I think many are already present in the game in some form.

I know porn and horror can be matched up well. In fact, I think porn or nudity or sex is compatible with any theme really. I mean, sex is such a common thing in life, and one could argue that it is perhaps one of the most important things for many organisms, that you could find it everywhere. It fits in everything.

Maybe it's better to say that horror/supernatural is not that suitable for me. Initially I was playing around with the lighting, and I also like the feeling of suspense and mystery, and it just sort of flowed into a horror game, which isn't exactly what I want to do. I had a huge post that I deleted explaining how I came to settle on the settings of the game and it's kinda a coincidence. The porn side was always going to be the dominant factor in this game, and if horror compliments it, that's good. But if the horror element becomes an obstacle to the porn side of the game, which is starting to be the case for me, then it's just hard to continue.

Also, HS2 is very limited in a lot of things, including horror elements. There's only so much I could do to continue the horror aspect of the game without repeating the same things. This is one of the reasons I find HS2 so limited. You download everything, and then you make things work. If there's nothing that comes close to what I have in mind, then you just have to abandon your ideas.
