The mod is already built into the game along with the gallery. There is no need for a mod, unless you want an unlocker for the gallery. And no, you would need to add the patch.

Update your video driver, codecs eventually. I use personally K-Lite_Codec_Pack in standard version.

I had the same issue, seems al ot of the scenes are missing. I chalked it up to the android port I was playing, but I am seeing more and more people say the same as you.
