She's returning home from work late in the evening, so I highly doubt she's been working in a cafe-strip club... I have no clue what the dev has in his mind and what her actual job might be, but he said multiple times he's not aiming for realism and we are talking about a mother who thought the appropriate attire for visiting her son in the hospital, where he's recovering from a coma, was yoga pants with a crop top, and a universe with french maid/waitresses and cosplaying professors, so what she was wearing for her job might not be that weird for the MC to comment on it. I might be wrong, but since the dev has openly said he doesn't like NTR and I have played his other game too, I don't have any reasons to distrust him.I agree with you partially, do not forget that in the end it isn't the MC what matters, but you as a player and if you connect with the MC, or somehow put you in his shoes, which is what bothers me a little (the MC's way of thinking and his apparently lack of interest), if as you say that was the case of the mother's work, many players (including me) will forget about this game.
I really hope this is just a case of extreme and overflowing speculation, and she got a good job as a supermarket cashier, or something like that, which doesn't pay much, something normal and quiet haha we'll see.
Edit: By the way, it's that same unrealistic porn game logic that worries us.

Yeah, in Japan they also blur dicks and pussys in porn, but they have shops and vending machines selling used school uniforms, underwear or even tampons, so they are not exactly a valid comparison measurement.
But even if we accept that cafes with waitresses wearing sexy french maid uniforms are legit and not shady at all, then why is the mother's uniform suspicious? They might also have grocery shops where the cashiers are dressed the way she was.

its not just japan with weird cafes, in Vegas you have the heart attack grill where they dress as sexy nurses, theres a maid cafe in Czech Republic and in Italy theres a fellatio cafe where you can get a coffee and a BJ (its real), so yeah not that weird for the sister, the aunts abit weirder and for the mom its not just the clothing for me but the fact the cousin didn't just say where she worked and the MC didn't even question it after just meeting that guy who know about him and his family
I have seen some strange things around the world, but, us Westerners think differently. I for one don't care what other people would wear to work. I don't know them. But, a family member would get grilled about it. Yes. I know the dev has stated it's not realism and that people should take everything in the game less serious, but, that mentality is deeply ingrained into a lot of us. So, for some, it's hard not to see things a certain way. If that makes sense.

i agree its different with a family member then just a friend, (and before any1 says its just because i wanna fuck the mom to be honest i dont, i dont really like mom/son incest) but with family you feel more protective and its hard to change that mindset even with a pixel family
Yeah, you are talking about novelty cafes though. There's also a hair salon where the hairdressers are topless, that doesn't mean that every time I go for a haircut I expect to see titties.
About the cousin, she didn't say where the mother is working, but she said she isn't paid much. All the "suspicious" types of work people are afraid she might be doing have one thing in common. Most women are doing them because of the money. Plus, like I also mentioned, she's not working at night. Something like that, combined with the outfit, yes, that would be suspicious.
I understand that people can be cautious with things like that, I am most of the times too, after seeing devs throwing NTR in games out of nowhere, even after years of development, but here the dev said multiple times he's not into NTR, in his other game's thread he even said he hates that shit, so I think we should wait and see what is actually going on with her job, instead of preemptively freaking out, just because a character is dressed somewhat provocatively in a game where pretty much all the women are dressed in a similarly weird manner.

True, the mom didn't dress like that until now, there are two possible explanations for that, first is like I said, job requires it, or else she just has no other clothes, if you remember all she has is clothes given by her daughter and her sister. I think it's more likely the first option, and the job is probably not strip club, it's probably something more along the lines as barista with an eye candy as sister job is, but it could be the second option if the dev wishes to make her dress more sexy as other characters, it would go more along the lines of not taking the game seriously
As for why MC didn't reacted immediately, it can be easily explained, he wouldn't want to embarass his mom in front of her niece. He being nervous about the cumgort is just another distraction on top.
