Writer/coder here! There's good news and less-good news.
The good news is that all the art for the build is finished! Woo!
The less-good news is that my mother got diagnosed with two types of breast cancer this month (I didn't even know there were two kinds). Naturally this was very upsetting news, so I took a brief hiatus to be with family, and I'll be spending some more time with them, but it won't affect the development of FET too much - just a small amount of extra effort/time. We're staying upbeat and optimistic about treatment - it's come a long way and survival percentages are good, but... we're still talking about survival percentages. So, that's slowing me down a little. I was hoping to pull a few all-nighters and make up the time, and it's coming together, but it's not quite there yet.
I'm working to catch up with the art, but you deserve to know why it's gonna take a few extra days. I'm not a fan of excuses, so I wasn't going to say anything, but the artist encouraged me to share what's going on since we're all in this thing together. So, yeah. That's what up with me. How are you?
That said, I'm pumped for you guys to see this upcoming version (should be ready for playtesting in a few days), the universe is a mostly awesome place, and we're gonna stay right here making the goodness.

Zaheer would be an interesting choice. As much as I love the idea of playing as Asami and using her influence to corrupt Korra, the previous point about the plot stands. You need to learn airbending and as a nonbender she simply has no reason to learn. Zaheer, however, as a new airbender, he could, potentially, also go through the learning journey that the MC needs to go through. While being a villain who terrorizes Korra. It would also keep the theme of starting out with no power over the 'teacher' character with possibilities of gaining more as she is corrupted. Plus, he's a known criminal already and that seems to be a pretty comfortable fit for the MC. Tenzin already mastered Airbending so there's nto much point for him. The only thing he has going for him, as far as this game is concerned, is he has a sort of built in authority over Korra.
Zaheer for Korra focused slave route, Kai for Jinora focused love route, maybe.

Theres a reason middle aged women in the risk group for breast cancer go trough mastectomy.
I'm not really fan of people acting everything's an excuse and being apologetic. You should just say "personal emergency delays things and people who don't like that can suck it", anything else is just PR speak.
I too hope all the best for Mity's mother so she doesn't distract Mity from producing porn game updates I want.
I would certainly enjoy that. I'd like to see a stronger story for a creat-a-bender than the thief had. But don't forget that Kai is a viable option, too. He also fits the criteria for new bender. He's also a former criminal. He would also fly under the radar of everyone looking for a real threat which is something this game likes to do. The MC as Aang wasn't a threat because Avatar. As the thief he was a criminal but he was locked up and thus had no power, and as Zuko, you were a prince, but you were playing second banana to Azula. Until...you know...you fucked her in the throne room in front of a shocked audience that included Firelord Ozai. Kai's morality is also pretty questionable. While he is shown to be mostly a good guy but sort of a puckish rogue, he could easily go either way in a game like this.

Well you could modify the story and say that during book 3 she got air bending as well. Or possibly the love route is you playing as Korra. IDK I'd just really enjoy a single route in this game being pure lesbian sex all the way.

Wait I just remembered something, when you start a new game the MC is some dude playing a video game in an apartment Republic City and there is a news announcement on the radio about spirits running rampant, maybe the person we play as in Book 4 is just the MC?
This sounded like a good theory, but then I realized since the MC is an incarnation of the Avatar, then the start of the game at the apartment would be taking place after Korra has already died since he's the new avatar. So I doubt we'd be playing as the MC since book 4 is in Korra's time period and the MC's time period is after hers.
It's possible that this could happen after book 3:
- MC gets transported to Korra's time period
- He masters airbending, which means he knows all the elements
- Goes forward in time to the future Republic City, which is actually his present time that he started in
- Solves the problem that's mentioned at the start of the game, then goes back to playing his video game. The end.

only to realize that Four Elements Trainer has forever ruined it for you, since everytime you hear it, you picture banging Kitara and Preggerizing Azula.
Neither of them (Mako/Bolin) are 'air' benders though (they are fire/earth respectively).
My money is still on a random air bender for one route, and Zaheer for the other. That said, Bumi or Opal would be interesting options...

mabey that the problem then bc if your so centered around the music over the actual content i could see how that might spoil the experience on my side tho i don't usually notice small things like that as im too busy either loving some girls or corrupting them plus if anything it just makes the song more memorable as with most things you remember the things you like and everything associated as with my me and new life pre 1.6 epic sax guy i will never forget it bc of beggars my new life
