Not really as I cannot see what release you have, both versions contain a "patch".no worries broas you can see from the screen i attached it clearly says "patch = True" tho, any ideas?

it should work, but if you are deep into the game without it - you probably already set on "good guy" routes for most part, so maybe some darker options will be unavailable
The patch is needed for brother-sister roleplaying sex scene with ashe near the end of the version. You'll miss the sex scene without it installed.

the taboo patch seems to not work for me, I am not getting any of the darker path options, not even on earlier scenes from previous chapters?
