When I'm writing Guy/MC, I try to keep in mind that I'm writing porn, and so he behaves like a porn protagonist. Part of that means behaving in a way that's conducive to a lot of sexual encounters.
I will say this, though - the game's still in development, and sometimes corners get cut in order to hit a reasonable serialization schedule. When the first "season" of the game concludes, I'd honestly like to go back and add some stuff to make a nice, polished final version. That'd ideally include some higher production value stuff like music, sound effects, and good animations, as well as polishing up the story here and there. One thing I'm adding with Chapter Four, is a lot more variables to let the player take control of their version of the MC.
For instance, there's a part where you can flatly reject Brittani, and rather than write one distinct reason for doing so, I give players a few options: 1) it's just not the right time/situation 2) she's too young for you 3) you're already interested/involved with someone else.
Likewise, if you're pursuing Ashe and you're on her friendship route, you can flatly tell her if you'd like to date her, or just be friends. If she's into you because you were nice to her, or dislikes you because you were kind of a jerk at your first meeting, she'll react with either happiness, sadness, relief, or apprehension.
Some of this stuff is evolving as I get a better grip on coding, too. This is my first attempt at a game, so I'm kinda building the tracks while the train's already moving.
Hey! Sorry, didn't mean to ignore this. I plan to approach this by allowing for variable "pet names" in the submission, sugarbaby, and gaslighting paths. You'll be able to select either a nice pet name, or a degrading one, and then set it to what you want.
As far as anything else goes, it'd probably be up to the creator of the Taboo patch to create that content.

Hurry up before I do it again That's really smart and I'm glad to hear it! I think there's only one other game I've played that I can think of that has a lot of flavor text like that, and that's Light of My Life. It's one of those things that doesn't occur to a lot of authors understandably, but it's actually brilliant! It doesn't have to affect literally anything in the game, i.e. no variables etc., it's just an opportunity for the player to immerse themselves and feel like the MC is them rather than the other way around. Makes it really efficient from a content production and player satisfaction standpoint imo.

I, personally, do not read the change logs as they often contain too many spoilers (I am not the person you are were talking to, just sharing a perspective that avoids the CL)... but I went and checked and there is nothing that would have addressed the issues they brought up, besides it being a Halloween update. Should they have connected-the-dots to assume that a Halloween update would not have any relevant story? I am confused as to how the change log would have helped them...Maybe read the changelog first next time?

They seem quite different to me. In High-Rise Climb the blackmail feels very loose and inconsistent. In fact, it is more corruption than blackmail. Also, no matter which route you choose, the consequences are the same. The game does not change practically anything from one route to another. What it does do is close some routes based on your decisions, but that's it.
Of course, High-Rise Climb has a much more elaborate gameplay, although with quite a bit of grind. But that's another point that separates the two games quite a bit.
A game more similar to High-Rise Climb, in my opinion, is: The Regional Manager
And sorry for the offtopic, since this thread is not to talk about other games.

Okay, did Nicki really expect to come over and ask for $20k for her boyfriends fuckup and still be friends after?
Two things I can't do: 1) Be nice to Nicki, 2) Be mean to Gabby (especially after the knuckle story scene).

I found it as fun little addon, the bigger event would only push back next chapter so I find it better that way.

Jesus even though I'm inclined to play wholesome contents, it really takes courage to choose to be kind to Nicki in the first chapter because the premise of her stupid bf's scheme to suck you up is really nasty. I really wish there's a "send her off" choice to completely shut down her route at the first place instead of the dichotomy of kindness and humiliation.
