Everyone gets one specific code tied to their patreon and in turn their IP and what not iirc, so codes being used across multiple computers and distances will flag the code and get banned by the server
I don't know much about technical stuff, but if I am not wrong then my IP changes every day as an example, so it would be a bad idea to use such a thing.
I played already some games that have some additional security codes and everytime the IP changes it asked for the code and for 10min you could do less stuff in the game. While there is some type of security, it is unnecessary if it just not only asks everytime (why not just ask for the code instead of being bound to an IP?), but even limits actions in the game.
And multiple computers? If someone pays for it then he should be able to use it anywhere (generally, maybe not porn
), it shouldn't be bound to a single computer, even worse if something happens with it.
If I am not wrong, then I think that the technical stuff is wrong, but it could be true that the code is limited. If I am wrong, then the choice doesn't seem that smart from my point of view.
