First of all ditch patreon because without a demo this game feels like big promises and nothing else.I'm curious - what exactly are you expecting to see in terms of promotion? The devs are publishing promotional material regularly through their channels (Twitter/FurAffinity/Patreon) in addition to E621.net (and have been doing so for quite some time). What else can they do during this development period? Is it actual bought advertisement you'd like to see? If that's the case, you don't think that could backfire (advertising an unfinished product that doesn't even have animation yet) ... ? If not, what exactly are you proposing?
Also, in case people aren't aware, Patreon does not allow creators to publish any NSFW material publicly, which limits what they can share with non patrons.
Once thats done create a demo(could be any working version from the last year)and put it up to steam as an incoming game with a demo already avaible. You have no reason to update the demo so unlike putting it up as an EA title no one will care if it doesnt get updates as its still a demo.
Once its on steam they can go and make more public posts so people have more generic idea on how things go, they can even put the list of whats been achieved there too.
I know of patreon users who have published their content on steam as "demos" and such, it creates more interest which this project needs.
