People develop stellar indie games that are best-sellers on Steam and you don't see those people go "Oh, I had a bad stomachache, next update is in 2 months". It's just simple work-ethic and responsibility issues. Nothing more, nothing less.
People also sit in their mommys basement, complaining about free stuff they are jerking off to, while trying to convince someone on a pirate porn forum that they would have better work ethic than these patreon devs.

I think I threw maybe 20$ at the developer of this game. I think I got about that amount of entertainment out of it. It's a good game. Not sure where your comment comes from, really. My complaints were more about the fact that these projects tend to overstay their welcome and the developers milk the living shit out of them instead of concluding them and working on something else instead. I mean, of course, I was also ranting about people making poor excuses for poor performances of developers, but that's neither here nor there since that will never change.

So the same old crying about milking and lazy devs? Some people really need to grow up.

it is not really that hard to understand that most of those people are part time developers and that you are not paying for anything on Patreon. You are donating to a project, simple as that. This doesn't turn you into their boss and neither them into your slaves.

And about a possible delay on Sally i prefer it to a rushed content. We all know they can deliver quality content.
Also so far as i know Wallis Part 2 is being done by other people from the team so it shouldn't be delayed much by Sally's release date.

Tell me more about how I can become a "part-time" whatever with the salary that is given by these patreon projects. What a take "You're not paying for anything" "You are donating to a charity" "You are not anything" "We'll get quality I'm happy". Actual OMEGALUL.

Not my fault if you didn't bothered to read what patreon is about before acting like all entitled.
Also ~5k divided by 4 people plus what they need to pay for extra comissioned art/writing is hardly what i would call big.

And we are not even talking about the time it takes to write thousands of lines and draw art. Again your fault for not bothering to learn about before complaining.

The joke is on you... :WeSmart::WeSmart:

Would it make you feel good if I just conceded instead of continuing to argue with you? I CONCEDE. OH MY GOD. YOU DESTROYED ME. GOD. Lol.

Isn’t that just normal human thing though? If this a hobby that pays them then it makes sense they’d tap out due to a break up and if it’s their job and their self employed then they’d also be self motivated and it wouldn’t be suprising they’d tap out due to a breakup. It’s just normal stuff, It’s a goddamn miracle they even communicated. Most developers wouldn’t even bother with that they’d just go ghost. Hacking them for it is insensitive as fuck. Do better.
You are right, when you do something as a hobby and manage to get paid, great good for you. But don't put up a whole message on your donate board "x% reached to make this our full time job". Either don't build up your audience expectations or take everything YOU (the creators) say seriously.

Why not? To become a actual full time dev is the objective of a lot of developers using patreon/subscribestar. This is reflected in the tier list of several of them, even if it is something most will have a hard time trying to achieve.

Are you being serious? You honestly don't get what I'm saying? I didn't say that this is a bad thing. But when you want to make this your actual job and go out and tell people "give me your money so that I can work professionally", you can't make excuses like that when you delay your work. YOU (the creators) are the ones that expect people to trust you with their money.

Not to be the fence-sitting centrist, but I feel like the truth is somewhere in the middle.
Is the game high quality and worth waiting a little longer for (and even donating to)? yes.
Are the developers regularly making weird excuses last minute to not deliver like they themselves sceduled? also yes.

It's fine to ask for a little consitency from the makers of a game you enjoy. especially if you support them financially.
But are you entitled to their work? not really.
Are you correct in pointing out this negative trend? absolutely.

I just doubt whining about it on a unrelated forum does anything to make them work harder. The many delays are dissappointing for sure, but you are also free to stop supporting it at any point, if you feel like you're being ripped off.

You make a good quality porn game that people want to see more of. As you'd say it: There will be enough "idiots" that think it is worth supporting you so that they can get more of it. The salary is not as much as you think, though. But anyway, the reality is that you would give up rather early, finding out that it is actually hard to make a (quality) game.

So I guess you should stick to complaining.

Did you notice that they never reached the tier which would allow them to focus full time on game development as a job?

Also complaining about this here is strange, to say the least, specially when their actual patrons seem okay with waiting for them to deliver a high quality update instead of rushing things.

And I wonder why they haven't reached their goal, hmm...
When did I complain? I made a joke stating the truth, are you trying to create drama here?

I honestly don't get why so many people are getting offened when someone complains about something or hate on something. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and is free to share it.
Honestly the trend "you are so toxic", "stop complaining", "do it better yourself" and so on... So cringe. If you want to live in a fairytail good for you but don't pretend like you never complained or hated on something youreself and you are the very best like none ever was.
To catch them is your real test,
To train them is your cause,
You will travel across the land,
Seaching far and wide,
Each pokemon to understand,
The power that's inside.

This was the joke:
Imagine telling your boss: Boss, I won't be able to work for a few months.
Why? What happened? Are you alright?
I broke up.
......... Seriously?

You are either trolling me or you seriously didn't see this.
