Oh wow. I used to check here often, now I skipped a few months and it's blown up...
Everyone seems a bit on edge. Why is it so weird to update here before Patreon? Patreon means money and with that obligations or at least expectations. I get why you'd not want that if things are uncertain.
I believe the dev if they say they're working on it, however long that may take, and I will patiently wait for anything that may be to come.

Where is the dev from? Whenever a dev suddenly stops communicating after being very active I worry that they got caught in the turbulence/war that's currently going on.

It's been four months since her post. Many games don't get an update in four months. Let's give it the time it needs. I'm a positive person and I'll stick to her last post. I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying, but there is a little more less nuance than that too. That's more or less been the only update from Tessa for almost a year and a half. The abandoned tag is well warranted in this case; although peoples complaints really aren't.

If we get an update in the future? Great! If not? Then I wish Tessa the best and I'm happy we got what we got, even if it's disappointing we didn't get more.

And I still don't believe that post was real. As I've said before, I occasionally check on the Discord, and it's an absolute ghost town that's completely riddled with spam-bot posts. I simply cannot make myself believe that a dev would come back from an extended absence, make a single post on F95 of all places, and completely ignore both their Patreon and their personal Discord. It just doesn't make any sense.
