In the released game there's no mention of the label is getting your error.

Some questions:

1) Which game version are you playing?
2) Did you start a new game or loaded one (even just before it asks about game modes, counts as a load)
3) Have you unzipped the game on a whole new folder? Especially with leaked releases which don't autoupdate like Steam, Gamejolt's and Itch.io's sometimes files I changed or deleted will get in the way)
4) Can you send me a save game just prior to this?

I believe this issue you're having is caused by #3 or by having the compressed version which has .rpy files which overwrite .rpyx each time you load the game, making changes useless. Unfortunately I have to repeat what I said earlier: officially released version doesn't have this bug, I cannot help you

PS: Believe me, I'm not glad when something like this happens, not mainly because people are playing a leaked release but because of the bad publicity that sometimes faulty release does to the game. Unlike most games I happen to delete, re-do from scratch and update almost every file in every update I made, hence the issues with tampered versions

1)I downloaded latest from this site (not compressed, original size) 0.19Alpha
2)I started a new clean game without any old saves (went through whole process at the beginning answering those questions for stats etc.)
3)I just unzipped it in a folder where i keep games and played it from the folder which was in zip file
4)Here is my save game just prior to finishing Ritas exam...when you do it you can see how money goes from -2000 to -1500

this is my save game, 1 previous error and 1 after this save game

This was sneaky even for me. I'm attaching a fix for this, the issue only affects the "Codex" button during examinations and not during other gameplay activities.
You can either unzip the file overwriting the originals in the "game" folder or right-click and access the Codex from the Main Menu to skip the issue.

Updated roadmap to final release!​

Hi guys!
This last few months have been very intense from a development point of view. With retail release of the game and it getting bigger and bigger things are certainly improving for the game and it's time I update the old roadmap with this new one!

You will see that I only indicate "Major features". This doesn't mean that other things won't be added (i.e. picture gallery, new items for the shop, improvements to gameplay etc.) but that you can expect some MAJOR changes in the game.

Of course support to the game will always be present, Patreon supporters will receive each update earlier than others (see rewards on Patreon for further infos), new interactions and features will be present in the game.

Only consider this roadmap as a guide to what you can expect in each update of the game.​

Some more infos:
- The project is bold but this goals can be achieved with both your support (both in terms of money and/or alpha testing) and with the new equipment we're going to use in development, thanks to your help!
- I'm in the process of getting some extra help in developing the game either, so we can focus on closing this project without the need to hurry to deliver the perfect "General Practitioner" experience we always meant for you to play.
- A new project will be announced in April but it won't start development until General Practitioner hits Beta. That's because while we need to plan ahead for our little indie enterprise to survive we also want to deliver a FULL game, not an incomplete one.

Still, if you are curious about our new project, which we're sure you'll like, stay with us!

Ask whatever question you like, without feedback every project, even Rockstar's RDR2 would've doomed to fail, this is especially true for small indie productions like ours.​

Hmm, if it was like this no one would ever played the game at all. Can you please tell me which patients are involved, which game version are you playing, if you downloaded it from here I can't help you since I do not made this release (there have been rumors about issues with the compressed version in the past). Finally, if you don't tell me WHICH exams crash (all 50 of them? Hardly) I can't fix them.

The game's 0.0.19 release has been out on Patreon for more than two weeks now, something big as this should've been reported earlier, so I'm guessing it's a bigger problem than it actually is and might be caused by external causes as well.

I am getting exceptions whenever there is a random examination that seems to involve child patients. I can ask the initial questions but as soon as it goes to the examination part, an error pops up and the only viable option is a rollback.

Already posted about this. This is an issue with the compressed leaked release posted here. Can't help you with that, I suggest either to download the game from official sources or the non-compressed version.

That bug was from the uncompressed version, though. Unless the release in the opening post, which is 1.39 GB unpacked, is still considered a compressed version.

As for the game itself, I really like the premise. Even though some of the stuff seems so complex that it's basically impossible to beat as layman other than guessing. (And the language barrier of encountering medical terminology as a non-native English speaker does not help)
But even despite that, I would not actually want to change anything. The concept is so fresh and educational that I don't actually care that it makes the gameplay difficult.

Hmm, I haven't checked the uncompressed version, just the official one which doesn't have this issue. I'll check the uncompressed as well just to be safe.

pointless game unless you are an actual doctor, unless you mouse wheel back everytime you answer an option, and go through every single one until you get it right

And if it fails horribly, then yes, just rollback one time, that's not so bad.

I would advice you, that if you really decide to make the game significantly easier (not saying you are, just referring to your reply in regards to thinking about the complaint that one guy made ), to make that optional, because serious gamers, whether in porn games or regular ones, do like a challenge, especially if it is relatively easy to go back, if you really fuck up.

Yep, it's a setting in the Settings Menu, so it's completely up to players whether to use it or not

@Shilo Ok, I just checked the issue you reported and it's something definitely bugged. I shall release a fix tomorrow both here and on Patreon release for that. Thank you very much for your report!

All you have to do in order to use his bug-fix files is delete the .rpy files with the same filename after you overwrite the .rpyc files. So if the zip file provided "exam_screens.rpyc" then you'd delete "exam_screens.rpy" and then overwrite the existing "exam_screens.rpyc" with the bugfixed one.

I realize this is an extra step, but certainly doesn't make the bugfixes incompatible with the compressed version of the game.
