I just installed the fix but the exam is still at the hospital.
The fix makes Fanny's exam start instead of Robyn's. The issue was that the wrong exam started, hence the variable that stopped it from starting again wasn't working. I haven't changed the variable, only the call to the wrong exam.

Do check again, you might need to load an earlier savegame though, I don't know when you saved it in fact...

Right now random exams aren't covered in the codex as they are the easiest to play. I don't recall right now without having the game in front of me, but I think no medications and sending the patient home are the right choices for that...

Thanks for the answer. Seems like you're talking about nukiges as an example of something you're not about. I tend to find nukiges dreadfully boring so it's great that this game is not that.

Interesting discussion on "visual novel". For me, your game does not qualify as a visual novel. A visual novel looks like this:

View attachment 200972

A visual novel should be a primarily text based experience, hence NOVEL, where the story is being told to the player in a way that has choices that increases engagement. Gameplay with win/loss conditions really just takes away from that experience and seriously degrades it imo. You're making a GAME and you should be fine with it.

Different users are satisfied by different experiences, generally speaking I prefer novels over games (which I kinda view as time wasters), but other people find entertainment in it. I'm sure there is a market out there for medical simulators though, it's is a cool concept. It's also good that you're making the medical stuff less demanding so that people who aren't into it can put up with it easier. Hope to see this evolve into something great.
Mmh no, else more than a half of Visual Novels in the would disappear from their list.

They state this in fact:
A visual novel can be seen as a combination of a novel and a computer game: they're computer games with a large text based storyline and only little interaction of the player. A typical visual novel consists of text over an anime-style background image and is accompanied by background music. Throughout the game, the player usually has to answer a few questions which will have an effect on the story, thus playing a visual novel a second time while giving other answers may result in an entirely different plot.
That applies to GP as well.

I think mine is a "different kind of Visual Novel" since the story still is the main element of it but with many side-activities. I'm trying to do something new in the Visual Novel industry (yeah, this is a bold statement, I'm well aware of that), I just hope the effort gets recognized as soon as the game is completed (an alpha game can't be judged as a final, polished product if one wants to be fair).

Also, GP doesn't feature a win/loss condition as doing examinations 100% or 0% doesn't affect the story but only the management game behind it. That's why I can't stress enough to play the game without trying to get 100% on each exam but to learn something and then go to the next exam. There are no achievements given for completing an exam 100%, they are given when completing an exam regardless of the result, and that's intended.

"Big Brother" is less a Visual Novel than GP is in my opinion and most western sex-games are not eroges either.

I don't think it's half, more like 10%... If I sort by top rated on vndb: I see 4 out of 50 that has game-elements, vast majority do not.

But if the story isn't impacted at all by the gameplay and all the relevant choices happen during the VN portions then I would agree this qualifies as a visual novel. Otherwise it's a story-heavy management sim, which is cool, it's just a different audience. There are a lot of games that have an immense word count out there that nobody calls visual novel simply because of how much the gameplay matters. For example the Persona series.

My impression is that if you're advertising on Steam and not goodreads the game designation would help you sell more anyway.

Never tried Big Brother. I don't understand the last comment about western sex games not being eroges, eroge literally just means sex games so super confused.

Yeah, "a half" was more of a figure of speech. :D
Yeah, all relevant choices happen during the VN portion in GP, it's unlike Persona, even though some gameplay elements have been inspired from that series.

By saying they are not eroges I mean they are not "Eroge Visual Novels", mostly because there's hardly any narration behind them, just like most porn movies are not in fact "movies", not in the widely recognized term. But that's a personal opinion of course :)

Steam Winter Sales have begun and they'll give you a chance to grab General Practitioner retail edition on a discounted price for all platforms! This discount also applies on other resellers of course, as well as on our Patreon Page!

Your support is the best way to ensure we keep entertain you with our project, as the way to the final release is still long and many, many new features are always planned and released!

Also, keep in touch for some MAJOR announcements regarding both General Practitioner and two new project we're working on with our staff (yeah, this "staff" stuff (!) is part of the news as well!)

So what are you waiting for? It wasn't easy to convince Erika to dress as Santa's sexy helper, show her your affection!

Be safe and healthy,

Anyone know how to get the rita ntr scene after the Jose massage
If anyone knows the answer to this, I'd really appreciate the help too.

Addendum: Exactly how does one get to this scene? I have the latest update yet I can't seem to find the triggers for José visiting the home. The closest I've gotten is the spa scene, then nothing…

Also, not certain if this is a bug or not, but the date night option, the image with the big red heart, does not lead to any further scenes with Rita. Rather it only leads to the same repetitive exam scene.

Anyone know why when doing the extremities exam for Bridget exam it still gives -3? @Bruni Multimedia
Yeah man, I'm doing her eval too and i'm stumped as well
Oversight. It will be fixed in 0.0.21. Thanks.

Hi, there is finally something between the MC and her sister ? thanks
If you follow Rita's netorare path yes, there's a scene with her. More scenes and the continuation/end of her story arc is due in a few months :)

@jack brisen thanks for those. They are a consequence of the updated Genesis 8 character, I feared something like that could pop up as I wrote in the changelog. They are getting fixed update after update. Unfortunately being the doc the main characters he has literally hundreds of dialogues to check ;)

Thanks.
