New gameplay mechanic. What do you think about it?
I like it, but could you pretty up the day planning menu as well? Maybe also use the phone in the background (possibly in landscape) with a calendar app open? That would get rid of that big blue box anyway.

I like the idea !
I know nothing, zero, nada about coding and creating a game so...despite you got the date on the calendar before the planning screen, would it be possible to add the day concerns by the planning blue box, i know it is just a second later but it will be a tiny plus...

"Beautification" of the game will take place eventually, I'm not fond of many things yet but I'm always fighting against time to release monthly updates. It will come, just be patient :D

Dating system: each time a new game



Each time you date a character in the game, beginning with Rita in the upcoming update "Ice Dream", you can choose to bring them to a place you already discovered while exploring the city.



You won't know if the date will go well or not, because that depends on fate (and your choices and comfort level of the other one). The more you build up your date's confidence the more chance of success you will have.
Each character you date will have a pool of 50 different characteristics (i.e. people they like/dislike, favourite foods, informations about their family or job etc.). You'll randomly get to know a different characteristic each time a date will go well and, since they're random, they will be different each time you play General Practitioner or load a save game.



When you reach a predetermined amount of infos (and then you need to date that person more than once to get all, that also means that each game you won't discover all fifty), the relationship will grow to a new step where your date will ask you (in a different way according to her character) if you really know her so well or if you're just using them. You will need to answer up to 10 questions regarding informations you received while dating. If you answer 5 of them correctly you'll progress in your relationship... if you fail at least 5 of them your date will leave you for good and you won't be able to progress their romance further.
Each date's outcome can be also influenced by what you already know (or don't) about her tastes. For example you could learn Rita doesn't like horror movies, so choosing one for your movie theater's date won't be the right choice.



Imagine the full game, as I am doing. In the full game you can date dozens of different people, each one with her own agenda and interests from a pool of 50. Since you can date just one each day you will need many hours to date everyone and you need to remember what turns them on or off (like you would do in real life). This way the game will be challenging enough without becoming frustrating and each playthrough will be different so you won't know what to expect.

No worries, it's just a thought I had while looking at the screen shot. I love the game mechanics already at work and I'm interested in what you're doing. Good job!

Okay, I've played a little more of this game now and I'm really liking the expanding mechanics being introduced along with the story. I really think you need someone to check through your dialogue though, there are some errors that make it seem that English isn't your first language. A number of instances where "tough" is used instead of "though", talking with Max Paulson (I think?) he lists his hobbies as "hanging girls". Now I'm sure it's hanging out with girls and socialising rather than committing atrocities around the city but you never can tell. Also, the patient named "Kiko" says she was born in the Peoples Republic of China but Kiko is a Japanese name, is that on purpose and there's a backstory to that? There are various grammar issues throughout but forgivable in an alpha, do you have anyone that can check your dialogue or do you need someone to help?

I could get someone to help, since English ISN'T my first language as you have guessed. As for Max I missed an "out" and that became creepy indeed! :D

I correct some lines when people tell me which errors I made, but I hope I'm not making as many mistakes as to make my game to become unplayable :(

It's definitely not "unplayable", it's a good game and shows real promise in a market littered with clones. Poorly executed sentences do tend to detract from the game thought and hate it when it happens to a good game. If you are in need of help, I will offer to read through your dialogue and send you some suggested changes. I'm fairly proficient in English and have watched enough poorly subtitled Anime and Kung-fu films to understand what is intended and translate it in my head. That's what gives me issues when people ask me what errors were made, I spot them and correct them as I'm reading so I don't tend to remember what the issue was, just that there is one. Your script is fairly well put together but it flows as if it's someone piecing together dialogue from language they're not totally comfortable with and I believe I can smooth it out for you.

Again, it's just an offer of help if you want it.

some advice to improve render quality in the eyes that makes 0 change in render time on the cornea apply a clear water shader and change the index of refraction to 1.38 or 1.336 either works and then apply the same shader to the eye moister layer and apply the same index then under shaping tab on the model you are working with apply the cornea bulge for more real like eyes doesn't apply really anything to the render times and make eyes much better.

Next if you don't mind some render time shine a spot like or point light into the eyes and make it soft for the renders and apply a hdri and disable the hdri in render settings so it doesnt show at render time. this will add reflections onto the eye surface and make them pop in your renders and the render times aren't that bad adding it if turn the hdri off.

i'll drop render with a random model showing the eyes with the changes and without for you to take look at i like the game so far but a hdri for reflections and lighting and adjusting the eyes would help with render quality.

the first image is with the changes and depth of field, The 2nd is no change with depth of field, 3rd Changes no HDRI and no light shining in the eyes with dof (it just makes too much of a change in image quality so i always dof)

This is the latest public version of the game. A lot of changes have been made, as who has been a patron of mine will surely be aware of.

Please also remember that the game is an alpha and therefore it's prone to bugs and crashes, many of which have already been fixed for "Ice Dream 006 update" available for free next month.

buddy your game is great to play. one of the very few of over 50 games I look forward to updating.....and that's says a lot (by my own standards admittedly).

I hope your patreons will be at least forgiving. I used to play Emily:sister attraction and then spent a year looking up updates and follow-ons through my phone. some sites were blocked but the game dev (palmer I believe) spent over a year giving his patreons absolutely nothing and has since missed just about any and all targets set as far as I had read, and there are many others alike.

I enjoy your game so much I have even started recreating the events in real life, although my girlfriend absolutely refuses to crash a motorcycle (spoilsport) and asks you to please NOT add brain surgery.......no sense of fun that 1 :D


I am a bit confused by the update here though...its 0.0.5 and I already had 0.0.5c

005c was the patrons' release leaked on the forum here (I'm not against it as you can see but of course it's not "official" stuff, so I don't have any responsibility about it).

005 (as all versions without letters) is the official public one. Even public releases are monthly, and they contain all bug fixes that the patrons warn me about. So it's no use leaking a version since the free one will be delivered just a few days later.

Of course I can't (and don't want to) oppose to this site's rules, I'm just stating a fact :)
And since my patrons deserve my respect I won't be the one giving away unofficial links here, even though I won't ever oppose whoever does it.
