Some people have trouble remembering stuff if there's too much time in between more content, though. I genuinely have a friend who struggles to remember what the last thing was that happened in a TV series when a new season begins (unless it was outstandingly memorable). Anyway, I assume some of these folks have just forgotten the beginning of the story since it's been awhile. Ofc, there also are folks who get names confused as well, so I'm not surprised someone said that specifically.
But your comment might be the least bitchy of all bitchiness. Like Kind Nightmares, I also thought it was pretty tame, TBH.

This may be a random comment amongst comments (glanced above but did not look too much), but just came across this one in my collection of AVGNs again. One of my favorites. Totally forgot to actually subscribe to throw some money at as I try with games I love or really enjoy. Then found that unless I'm mistaken there are not nearly enough Patreon subscribers for in my opinion amazingly sexy/hot work compared to a lot of other games out there - even regardless of storyline - but the storyline is interesting and enjoyable as well. I love dystopian futuristic stuff!
I strongly endorse trying this game out. Once you get to the good stuff if nothing else it is hot. But I enjoyed the storyline as well, so I'm not just trying my usual these days (too many AVGNs, too little time) gallery mod-looking, and actually want to play the game as well when the next update comes out.

honestly... i have a feeling that 99% of the story so far was unplanned. how the hell did we go from naive yet fun lesbian elf saves redheads to... whatever this is?
why was everything we saw a flashback? and flashbacks within flashbacks? why should i root for whatever Celeste wants to do (which is allegedly protecting her 'loved ones') when i can't even tell who she loves and who she doesn't? the whole Isolytra (whatever her name was) plot seems to be leading to an execution/betrayal by Celeste and the hacker girl or something. why the hell is hacker girl such a bitch? TELL HER WHAT YOU'RE PLANNING TO DO WITH HER! this is why i'm getting 'we're planning to kill you' vibe.
and why the hell is Celeste meeting her niece behind her mother's back? i don't really care about contrived plot reasons the longer you put off admitting you're related to her, and meeting her the right way with her mother present, the less she'll trust you when she finally finds out, and this is without her even knowing about the secret meetings mind you, which again is very fucked up. DON'T MEET OTHER PEOPLE'S KIDS IN SECRET GUYS!
and this was, again, all flashbacks! circling back to the first sentence, this is why this feels unplanned. its like there was an attempt to JUST do a "i'm sure you're wondering how i got here" flashback but it spiraled and spiraled into whatever this is. weird pointless drama, mystery, backstabbing, and intrigue that feels like it has no stakes cuz well... come on, no one is killing our MC or her fan favorite harem. flashbacks made it clear she always wins and is badass and is so cool omg u guys... which i have no issue with when i'm just looking to jerk it mind you.
and dev if you read my retarded ramblings (thx) plz know im not trying to be mean im just blueballed... i can count the sex scenes with one hand, the other is wiping away the tears on how little sex there was. and when there's little sex i focus on the story... and i have VERY high standards when it comes to storytelling.
also amazing renders and artstyle, 10/10.

Holy shit dude, THANK YOU. This helped so much. I'm bookmarking this post and when the update drops I'm starting a new playthrough while referencing this, shit will make SO much more sense.

In every review - doesn't matter if it's a game, a movie or a book - the reviewer writes his/her opinion, and always want/demand something, however never takes into account the creator's vision, plan, idea, etc. If I had read even a single - so-called helpful -
I agree that at first, the story seems a bit confusing and hard to follow. Fortunately, there is the option to replay it at any time and without any restrictions, and it doesn't hurt if the reader reads and interprets the text. Although if the latter is not the goal, then it's all just a waste of time, right? But in that case the result is pretty renders without meaning.
Namco15 I only have two minor technical issues, one of which I can solve myself. One is that I'm not a fan of colored text, so I edited the script, so that only the speaker's name is colored, not the text they say. Secondly, I think characters say another character's name too often without adding anything to explain why they said the name in the first place. In some cases, it would be better if the character just said/thought the other character's name to themselves. In some cases, it might be better to have a few additional words.

I have a question, a suggestion and a little rant.
How many updates have you planned until the end of the game?
This story has potential but please do not continue this Matryoshka of flashbacks. There's a good reason why stacking flashbacks is rarely used in literature. It does tend to become confusing and only exceptionally good writers manage to pull it off without alienating a significant amount of readers. Furthermore, you have to take into account that this game has been going on for 3 years now, with no end in sight. It is not reasonable to assume that most of us will remember such a convoluted timeline after so much time has passed by.
My rant is about the sex scenes. The renders are the best I've seen in a game but the dialogues drags on too much and who on earth makes those noises during sex? Sometimes a simple "mmm..." is better than words no one uses. It breaks the mood.

If you bothered reading anything...at all....we will be back to the present in the next update.
If your memory is that bad, you can just restart....the whole story (again..so sick of repeating myself to people who can't be assed searching the thread or going back a few pages) will make so much more sense when played from the start when the next update hits.
This is not unique to this VN, every episodic VN suffers from the same issues. When played a s a whole...the issues are just not there. So either accept it, or wait utill it has the 'completed' tag.
My memory is fine, thank you. Just a question: when you read a book or watch a movie, do you also restart it until the plot makes sense?
The issue with the plot is not people's memory but the fact that the dev went on for too long with the flashbacks and started introducing flashbacks within flashbacks. If you like convoluted timelines, good for you, but you have to accept that a lot of people don't.

I do like them yes. I suppose you whined at Inception too huh? You'll find most people enjoyed it and did not have a problem with it's structure. That's a you issue for not personally liking that style, not the dev's problem.
Books and movies are not released episodically, and when they are, each segment is usually a full complete story. Even if it's a part 1, 2 etc, often times, there are years between sequels, so yes, sometimes good to refresh your memory, especially if you really enjoyed it.
Now, are there any other points you'd like to incorrectly try and make?
