did you have fsck 's bugfix installed in .28? I don't know much about it but maybe something left over?
Assuming that all the download options still "talk" back to DS's server they should all get the update to fix the bug.

They do, it will auto-update as long as its not currently blocked via firewall/hosts. I grabbed the update and updated my cheat mod with no issues.
