Maybe someone already did something like this, but I just want to rant real quick. Pay no attention to this garbage post:

FUCK why does Max only have 2 goddamn braincells that rub each other in his dick! I get that this is a porn game, but still he's a known degenerate by his family and just proceeds to do the dumbest shit over and over again. Like, opening a door to a changing girl once, alright I watch enough anime that this is fine to me. But when you do it a second time after said girl caught you jerking off my brain is just screaming at me. Holy hell the only reason I didn't absolutely hate Max before was because Er-c (won't name him fully just in case) was a bigger douche than Max. But at least for now I can absolutely say I hate this goddamn shitstain.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest. I do hope this new iteration goes well, but my god does Max really make me want to punch something. Still a decent game IMO at least thanks to the models.

What's the point of me playing a female MC if there is no interest? Yeah, I think most were interested in college content and with Julia, but suddenly, everything started to blend and lose its focus. If you've played Chloe18, the character gradually lose your shyness until she becomes a slut. If the DS when creating Glamour didn't have that goal, so what would it be? There are many other reasons I could talk about why I'm thinking Kate's story sucks and really at some point you're going to ask yourself, why is this game called Glamour? I'm not here to say that Kate should become a slut or force it to be, but porn games have to give pleasure to the player eroticism and pornography, don't you think? Well, I don't want to play a game that you need to feel like a woman, but something that makes me feel pleasure and the story of the game sucks because there are no new gameplay mechanics and the story has deviated from the standard. I know you won't agree, but it's just my opinion.



This happens to almost most developers out there. With DS it would be no different, just remember Eric in the game, his public asked him to remove from the game in the old BB, and honestly, I think it was a right choice since DS built Eric a pretty bad character that could have been put to better use. Anyway, After that problem there with the patreon, I don't know what it was that made DS abandon its game, they say DS was very neurotic about pirating their game and so he left the game in the abandoned corner.

When creating glamour, you can tell it wouldn't be as successful as BB, and of course he left many BB widows and a new game playing with a female MC and with a bad engine, probably shouldn't have pleased a lot of people and then during those two or three years, he wasted a lot of time building a male playable character story before going back to creating BB again. Funny, he didn't want to do BB again, but it's the BB that makes more money come into your account, then, the public that pays the most decides. In my opinion, I've always said that DS should take your game abandoned, start working on it, fix some bugs, fix some things and move on to the story and he would work better on Kate's story, but it looks like he's neurotic that his game is pirated and honestly, it's hard to understand this. I think so, I don't think the new BB is bad, but I think the story was too rushed, so I think that's why he built the story like that, because no one would ever want to play BB all over again. But from my point of view, Max's story has or had a lot of potential, because if he puts Max through college and has more things and interactions to do, it'll be great, but if it's just Max at the Villa, it's going to get boring. Kate's story, the cool thing is that the open world would give the player several possibilities to interact with places and characters, but it seems that DS got stuck in Max's story...

I agree with guess of DS attitude. But I think your opinion of Kate's is too much based on experience with DS.
Usually I don't enjoy female protagonist PoV, here I did: pre-villa story merge.
Money grind stuff, yeah, just cheat it, as too much grind is killing enjoyment in games.

I enjoyed Eric as a villain, similar to Au-pair Innocence.
Glamour engine, isn't worse per-say. The new dialogues work a lot better, as you quickly glance thru them and skip boring parts, which usually is pain in the ass in VN.
I would say both Max and Kate have similar potential, but like you said, Max was locked in house which kills the vibe.

Usually I agree with your posts, so I'm suprised to differ opinion here, but welp ><

Very good point. Back on the BB people were saying that Max was "just as bad," but he really wasn't. If I remember, the Interloper's ultimate plan was to send all the kids away, get title to the Villa, then do away with Ann. Max wasn't a hero, but he was better than the alternative. Sort of like He Who Remains compared to his Kang variants.

My biggest problem with the models is that DS has not improved his craft over the years. The characters are still posed like mannequins with very little variation in facial expression, emotion. He seems to be continuing with the same tools and techniques while other developers are continuing to improve.

Personally, I never saw too many people complain about max back on the ole BB forum, but then again back then I didn't interact too much with others on this site. I was just a 'hurr-download-hurr' goblin then. But yeah, comparatively Max was garbage, but
Er-c was withering poison to me. But now that we don't have this overarching antagonist that everyone agrees is trash it really does show how garbage Max is.

Also, yeah I can kind of see that. I don't complain too much when it comes to things like this just because as long as there are no big grammatical issues in the dialogue or inconsistent art I'm willing to try it out. But after playing some other games that managed to look as good as BB/Glamour but with a little more, it has left me kind of wanting. Maybe I'm still okay with it just due to nostalgia but I completely agree that it's a little disappointing to see no marginal improvements either in the quality of the models and their details or by trying something completely new like throwing in some animations. But then again, I'm no game dev so what do I know right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He is just as bad, and those comparisons were few and far between in both BB thread and here too.

The only differences between them really, is that Max is younger and more inexperienced than Eric, and has a bigger dick with magical powers.

It would've probably been a better idea to open up more questlines than continue existing ones in each update. There were some promising avenues to be explored that would have been far more entertaining before Kate was as "open" as she is now:
  • Classmates: Joining a band with Mike, Cosplaying with Ruby, Clubbing with Helen, Gymming with Dennis, Modelling with Sophie, etc. Was also hoping for more hacking events involving Andrew. The Andrew+Karen questline is fine, but seems like it lacks potential.
  • Jogging in the morning with Julia which never happened :(
  • The hotel was supposed to have a mechanic in which Kate would be penalised if she got caught stealing items while cleaning rooms.
  • Endless opportunities with the medical room and pills.
Also, the phone is criminally under-utilised. So many selfies that have yet to see the light of day :(

Your point about the open world is especially true. I feel like the cafe, the mall and Julia's club at least could have benefited from having some random events with different people. If the club Helen's so fond of ever opened up on the map, that might have had some interesting opportunities as well. The mall feels especially empty.

And, while the college punishments is one of the best questlines, it would have probably been better to progress the different college committee branches (uniform rules, biology classes, etc) simultaneously than to complete the punishment branch first.

If you look at the concept images from before v0.1 came out, you can tell there were a lot more interesting mechanics planned that were never implemented:

I liked the last Max update as well, it's slowly starting to grow on me. The problem with the Max playthrough is that I keep comparing it to the original BB and it keeps falling short :(. Someone on these forums (I forget who) pointed out that it's mainly due to the lack of incest which adds an element of taboo to the gameplay. I know you can change the NPC mapping, but it's not the same. Nothing Max does feels as taboo in this game as it did in BB.

That one issues that I have with the current state of the game, Kate should NOT be over her inhibitions !!
From the dialogue we KNOW that before she manages that, She has to do the "Swimming ?" Quest.
But there is no sign of it and the longer it is delayed, The greater the risk it's introduction could could cause chaos.
D.S. would have to do one of the following:-
a) Code in one or more "auto-complete" for existing players (Depending how far they got)
While new/early players would have to play through the Quest.
b) Force a restart ( Not a nice thought)
c) Rewrite a large chunk of the game to remove all refence to Kate's problems with it.

OR
d) just forget about the storyline, Let her find the key to the locked room and move her into the villa !
