I'm wondering how popular this game is in the site, and also overall.
I've played a few of the Popular Games in this section,

I can see why they are popular, as the ones I've played are really good and appealing for their renders, game-play, story, etc. But looking at the number of reviews, discussions, messages, for each one, I'm left confused. It seems to me that GGGB surpasses some of them in those regards.
There are currently 11 games in that list, and I'm also wondering when another game will eventually enter this list. When that happens, will the list grow or will other game get replaced in its stead?

It seems like the only factor the mods take into account for a game to be considered "popular" is the number of views and comments the thread has. Nothing to with the actual quality of the game or the reviews.
Just some dumb numbers, what gets talked about the most, even is the replies are just people asking for a link or not adding anything interesting to the discussion. I guess that if we started shitposting and spamming ht thread it would get to the popular section, who knows...

I think it's a combination of frustrated incel devs but also at least as many devs that simply have an approach of 'fuck realism' (and common sense, and decency, and basic anatomy, and... you get the point x'D).

Sometimes games like that can be fun, but i completely agree. It's a massive breath of fresh air when a game that decides to be at least somewhat realistic, mostly anyway, comes around. It's definitely part of what makes this a good game.

Hm I think you underestimate the amount of work and dependencies with this complex branching. For me it's okay to have the choice. No need for more complexity to cover two, three, four aspects why she doesn't want a plastical surgery.

The game's cool and all but I have trouble seeing this "great writing" some people talk about here. Maybe it's just because I only played it once a while ago and pretty much only picked the most corrupt choices I could but it didn't feel very different from any "girl progressively does more and more depraved shit and has lots of sex" games out there.

You surely should have played GGGB more than once. Indeed you may lead Ash directly into a mudpit of debauchery and see her fucking almost every man she meets. However even then, there are a lot more inner monologues of the MC that give you an insight of her doubts, motives and feelings than in many other games of this genre. Besides you can make so many different choices that would have short- and longtime consequences. Most games I know of have no more than just a good and/or a bad path that become rather linear the more you proceed.

That's honestly what I assumed would happen if I didn't do what I did. Either be "Slutty Mc Cockslurp" on a nun.

It's really hard for me to judge. It was a long time ago and I kind of don't want to play it again until it's "mostly done" so i don't get burned and lose interest before it is really good.

When people praise good writing, imo they're praising its multiple branching paths. This game features far more consequences and narrative paths than most choice-based VNs.

Also I think the game does do a fairly good job of rationalizing the corruption better than most corruption games. Ash has a number of external stressors (parents divorce, school scholarship runs out, boyfriend goes overseas) which is a perfect recipe for drug use, in addition to a somewhat subconscious desire to be included in the cool clique of Jess and Jack, and the first time she does coke is really when her downfall is cemented. THIS GAME IS SECRETLY A "DON'T DO DRUGS AD CAMPAIGN!!! Jk jk lol
