Followed the link and read a couple of comments. Here is one of them:

Loved this game, was so much fun once you were able to get into their panties.

I have decided not to follow the recommendation of that poster, and to skip that game.
dude rapelay was so bad they banned that shit everywhere xD
on another note besides the great graphics from illusion games they are all pretty much same, but damn those characters in there are work of art! if only the story was good too, meh.

come on, get that 065 ready and post it so that maybe this craze about rape will finally stop and people will start talking again about the GAME (which btw is really a good one!)

Um...
https://f95zone.to/threads/rapelay-illusion.3115/

Also, you should look into "rule 34". "If it exists, there is porn of it".
Not even an arguement you are presenting here.

I was unaware of that game and not willing to play it. Even though in the game description its noted that after you rape the victims you can continue raping them until you break them. Actually a trainer rape game.

This game has exactly 100 likes. You had to dig deep to the list of Games labeled with rape tag to prove exactly what?

I will go to the top of the list. MC in milfy city Is a rapist. He rapes his teacher in the stereotypical porn perception of rape. Being pleasurable. The rape in that game Isnt even a part of a story. Just a side fapping material.

MC in dod Is also a rapist. Raping his Family in their sleep or under a spell. Again the stereotypical porn perception of raping.

In fact in almost all top 30 Games taged with rape tag, the perception of rape Is the stereotypical porn perception. You rape them until they like it.

In few of them rape Is presented in its True nature, and on none of them the rape case Is the storys main plot.

Someone noted that this game Is a love story.
I guess even in its current state.
And noted that the rape case Is a "mcguffin".
Actually a device to progress story, but insignificant, irrelevant and unimportant in itself.

Totally clueless.
Game Is indeed a love story. But everything in Last updates Is about the rape case. Dealing with the aftermath of it. Healing haley and dealing with the rapist. Plus sex scenes.

When you fuck a rape victim while you believe he Is adressing you they way he adressed her rapist. When not cleancing teeth in anger recalling the incident, when not trying to discuss it, when not trying to confront the rapist, when not getting wasted or clearly misserable, in a way others can tell Something is clearly troubling you.

And Some People try to argue that this Is not a "rape game" when the arguement Is that this now a typical rape STORY.

Cause the MC in HS became autistic we are destined to become autistic also.

Debate Over the obvious. That HS in it current state Is a story that everything Is turning around a rape case. Dealing with the aftermath of it. Dealing with the trauma or dealing with the rapist.

A typical rape story where the "mcguffin" in most cases Is the act and everything about the story Is the aftermath.

Although not taged, actually one among the few Games in this site that a rape case Is presented nearly its True nature. And among the fewer that a rape case Is the core of the plot and not a side fapping material.

Ps. Unclesvt " kicking ball in the stands" womens usa soccer team edition, was better than yours rapelay edition

Right! And Romancing the Stone is about a treasure hunt, Raiders of the Lost Ark is about the Ark of the Covenant, and The Trouble With Harry and Weekend at Bernie's are about dead bodies.I suppose you also think that Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a story about the search for the Grail. These are all classic examples of MacGuffins used in films.

The rape here is also a classic example of a MacGuffin, only used in a porn game.

Game Is indeed a love story. But everything in Last updates Is about the rape case. Dealing with the aftermath of it. Healing haley and dealing with the rapist. Plus sex scenes.
Exactly! A love story with a plot device inserted midway through. I'm glad we agree.

I wouldn't call this a love story, especially after they seemingly doubled down on rape in .60. At least not if we can't create a relationship with Diane, Lisa, or Lisa's sister Alana(?). Possibly Sandra too if she was non-sexual abused (or Victor but he's taken). Rape just dominates too much of the story for this to not be called a rape story. Judging by what people have said about the devs, I think they'd want it to be called that but obviously I can't speak for them. They definitely want to tackle this monstrosity of an issue and calling the rape merely a MacGuffin is doing a disservice to this game and what it's attempting to accomplish.

The argument about rape is pretty pointless. The fact is that like 99.9% of players fucking hate the fact that Haley tells you right after you had sex the first time that she fucking fucked a teacher when she was 15, like wtf? Almost feels like she did that on purpose to hurt the MC as much as possible. Thats absolutely the last thing I wanted to hear.

Then why play it anymore? No one is forcing you.

10% sunk cost fallacy, 90% I want to see just how bad it's going to get. Not trying to by smug or anything, I'll never say "I told you so" unless it's something purely factual and I doubt I even will then. I'm just tired of all the people in this thread claiming others are "misinformed" while most of the time it's a difference in opinion and when it's not both sides tend to end up equally wrong.

They hate it because they're supposed to hate it. Not everything in a good story is there for the readers to like. Some things are there to dislike or hate, unless the story is about the teletubbies.
If a reader doesn't have the guts to dig through the difficult parts of the story and drops it half way, he will miss the joy of overcoming the difficulties the characters are put through. Some readers do drop some stories that are too difficult for them to handle, there's nothing anyone can do about it. But it does not mean that the story is bad.

That's not what he's saying at all. You're supposed to hate that Haley was raped, but not how she tells you. It's a poorly written scene, which is bad writing.

And you know so well that you're not supposed to hate the way she tells it? How should she serve this announcement then? With milk and cookies over a romantic dinner? Especially when she does not consider this being a rape at all?

Well, she should've served the announcement some other time, either before they had sex, or maybe the next day afterward, but not DURING the afterglow of sex, THAT'S what to me was messed up, coupled with what the announcement was about, think that's what had people so riled up :p

I guess they were supposed to get riled up, then. :p

This was there to show how little Haley thinks or cares about it and how much of a gut punch this was for the MC. This is the reason why the MC got so riled up. You have to understand why he is so angry now, otherwise it would make less sense.

The writer isn't scared of the readers to make them angry at him for the sake of the story. That is good in my book.
I remember how angry were fans at Joss Whedon every time he killed another important and loved character in one of his TV-series. Some of them still are, totally unable to grasp how important it was for the story.

Could be she said it to try push the mc away, or some sort of self-sabotage. If thinking long term, it could be hard to maintain a healthy relationship, due to the nature and deal with people around. idk.
