I too was disappointed that we didn't find out how the Mom found out about the Klaus situation, what she actually discovered, or what she did to stop it. I'm hoping that information will be forthcoming in a future episode.

While the monogamous route is fine and dandy, I still maintain that the developer meant to have Sandra as an integral part of this story from the beginning. There are only two NPCs for whom status counts are maintained. Haley is one, Sandra is the other.
Well, we don't have details yet, but it seems pretty clear to me anyway that although Mom may have stopped it, she blamed Haley for it rather than Klaus. I'm also betting this betrayal did more to break Haley than the abuse from Klaus as bad as that was.
But you are right and that the MC is going about things in a smart way and not guns blazing and also hope that the story becomes more clearer in the next update.
If you remember how Haley first explained what happened to the MC, I assume that's the same story she told Mom, then pleaded with her not to pursue it further.
That's the thing about this game - it draws you in and personalizes it. Upon confronting Klaus about it he probably fed some bullshit to her what she believed when Haley supported it out of fear/shame, and the mom decided not to pursue it deeper but condemn her for the rest of her life. I can only see that as a shitty move from her part to be honest.

No, This update was quite good for me. It just confirmed what we already suspected. There are some other cool developments in the game as well and Haley and the MC are definitely closer now, with most of the recent tension between now out of the way. The first one I wanted to avoid and did was Adriana, it didn't felt right, but now, seeing how it gradually turns into a supportive friendship rather than a sugar-mommy situation, I glad I went back and went along with her. It seems like that the other girls will become something similar as well whom you could go after previously, see Alana, and since Haley is my main but I am curious about the others (except for Sandra), I'm fine with it. The only bothering thing that after ending things with them or not even starting cuts them out completely and makes you miss otherwise good content (like the Adriana car and Gaston pick up event).
I don't really consider the other girls, besides Haley and Sandra, as LI's. They are potential beards, eventual supporting characters for Haley and MC's relationship (if Sandra isn't there). They don't really have their own routes, they just show up every once in a while, like Lisa did in this update.
Lol so I like Haley so much I want to do a playthrough with only her. I'm very invested in her as a character, without any other distractions that changes the dynamic between Haley and the MC, Unfortunately Sandra very much influences the dynamic in the relationship, that's why I decided to break it of with her. (I know a lot of people don't like her, but she is actually very sweet and endearing. I love her character, but the town is not big enough for the both of them)
