Now I'm curious what people complained so much about and called NTR about Haley's past that she tells the MC. Could someone tell me what this past is and how it happens in the game, even if there are spoilers, I don't mind
Haley was groomed by a teacher when underage. She had convinced herself that she wanted this relationship, and owed this guy intimacy, so she went along with everything. A few weeks after, her mother found out and put a stop to it.

Back when she was in high school, Haley had sex with her Math tutor. She first reveals it to the MC (and us) just after she had sex for the first time with the MC. [This is when shit hit the fan on this thread.] She blames herself for what happened. After several releases and therapy sessions and much angst, it is revealed that the tutor had blackmailed her into the sex. She finally realizes that she had been victimized.

Yes, so this is the scene that many people wanted to see and didn't see because sexual things happen to her and they call it NTR, but for me that's not the case because it's in the past and she wasn't even with the MC. Other than that, because it's in the past, the game doesn't feature anything about NTR, right?

And from what I understand, this scene from her past was made more to add something more to the story, to make the MC help and show that things will be different with him than they were in the past with her staying with him.

Yeah, I don't see it as NTR. It being abusive aside, that would make any mention by an LI about a previous relationship, or mentioning they're not a virgin, NTR. Makes no sense.

Yeah... Kinda? I'm not happy with how this storyline was handled.

From my review:
The game's second mistake is not incorporating Haley's trauma from sexual abuse into the actual story. We could've learned how it shaped her personality from a young teenager until now. How it still influences her decisions and behavior today. We could've learned to understand where her brattiness and abrasiveness comes from, why insulting the brother she loves so much gets her off... But that's not what we're getting. The middle third of the game deals with her abuse in a very shallow way.

First off, there is NO NTR in this game - full stop.

While there were always a few people who thought that, the main criticism was that the game had suddenly turned from being light-hearted to being quite dark, with no real warning and at the exact point that everyone had been waiting for since the beginning.

The cries that the game had turned into a 'rape game' were deafening. Of course it hadn't; it had turned very dramatic. What followed was a long process where Haley had to first realize that what had been drummed into her head was not true: it was NOT 'all my fault' as she persisted in claiming; that she had been victimized as a naive, young girl by a power figure. Unfortunately, many had abandoned the game before that discovery.

This has always been my favorite game. However, it is marred by the endings, which were rushed with some promising plot threads never completed. So be forewarned about that.

You will have choices in the game as to whom the MC will end up with. You can have him wind up with Haley, or you can have him wind up with Haley + one of three other ladies (beards to camouflage the relationship with Haley). If your MC is mean enough to Haley, he can even wind up alone, but that takes some effort to accomplish.

To me, the canon route was always the MC + Haley + Sandra, but many dislike Sandra (or 3-ways in general). If that's the case with you, you might want to consult the Walkthrough to get the pathway that suits you best.

Thanks for the answer and explanation, when I play I'm going to want the mc to be affectionate, friendly and for him to be alone with Haley, because the story from what I see has always been with the two of them, so I want the best for him and for her what it would be for me, the two of them together living their love.

Anyone knows which VN this game is referencing when the MC goes with his boss to a mansion to talk with the people who will take care of the Klaus guy? I'm almost certain that's based on a real game I've seen here.

Alexandra. It's by Ptolemy, who was also one of the developers of this game.

It's the only route that makes sense from start to finish (and really the only route that comes to a reasonable conclusion without skipping over a whole bunch of important characterization). Sadly, the Haley-only route is the biggest mess of all, because it solves nothing and concludes nothing.

For anyone thinking about playing this game for the first time: whatever you think about early-game Sandra (and you're hardly alone in thinking what you likely are), she has — by far — the best character arc in the game, and end-game Sandra is a very, very different person than early-game Sandra. Even if you're a Sandra-skeptic, consider making an early save and then playing through her various routes once you're done with your preferred route. Unless you can't abide anything other than a Haley-only route, you might be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not one of those Sandra haters, I actually like her appearance and personality, she is a very sweet and beautiful girl. But for me the only route that make sense (not how it implemented in the game but due to the character dynamics) is the Haley only route. The bond between her and the MC is so strong that I don't see any other feasible way for them as to dedicate themselves to each other. There is not much chemistry between the MC and Sandra on the other hand that is felt in the game.
I often quote this dialogue from the game, which makes me very sentimental. ;) When the MC asks Haley what she wants from their relationship, she replies: "I want everything from you from the morning crossword puzzles to the gagball and whip".
Honestly, I don't understand where Sandra could fit in this picture.

How, on the solo Haley route, have they solidified their situation? How have they eased the fears of their employers? How have they satisfied society? How have they mollified their parents? How can they have a child without inviting questions they're unwilling to answer?

It's a non-finish because the devs gave up on it. I don't think it's an unachievable end, but they didn't even try.

Yes, but in the milieu they've created for themselves, they can't actually be together.

I definitely don't agree with that. There's not only MC-Sandra chemistry, there's a ton of Haley-Sandra chemistry. But you have to play the route through to the end. It always feels like the outcome that was supposed to be, and they mishandled the early-game Sandra, but they got everything else right

When the MC asks Haley what she wants from their relationship, she replies: "I want everything from you from the morning crossword puzzles to the mouth gag and whip".
And when does he give her the latter, once she asks? Nearly never. Yet another dropped storyline.

It's one of the countless instances of this game setting up something interesting and then losing any interest in actually pursuing it. Sub-Haley was a fascinating character. The MC wasn't interested. So...pursue that! But no, the thread just dies on the vine. Endgame Haley isn't getting the mouth gag or the whip, she's just getting contractions.

Sure. So GIVE US ONE. You can close your eyes and imagine solutions. So could anyone creative. The game never bothered, it just stopped.
That doesn't mean that OP's opinion is invalid. And I agree with OP.

The Haley path is the canon IMHO, just because the developers half-assed the "ending" (it remains unfinished) without giving us proper answers doesn't mean that their story doesn't end happily ever after... the writers simply never bothered to come up with one themselves.

I have not played the Haley solo route, but your questions are easy enough to answer.

A beard is not the only solution to having an incestuous relationship. It might be a convenient one but not the only one.

TL : DR (too many letters)

I never had any hopes for those stories
I'm just wondering, if you are so keen on realism, what are you doing on this site?
You need an absolutely realistic dating sim? Well, I have a bad news for you. 99.9% of games on this site aren't realistic
Moreover, I've had lots of realistic dating in my life, with mostly pleasant experience.
Can I have something unrealistic for a change? :ROFLMAO:

Do you always roll over this easily?
Why do you even believe that I'm interested in a pissing competition with you or care for your opinion about myself?
That puzzles me

I'm actually quite keen on games that openly attempt realism, which the first half of Haley's Story did. It's why it was, at the time, one of my favorite VNs. It didn't work out that way, which is why my disappointment in this particular game is keener than it would have been if the story's ambitions had been more unrealistic.

I don't have particularly high expectations for most games, because most games are infantile. Doesn't mean they're not enjoyable, but I consume them as pure fantasy. HS began as something different. I wish it had finished that way.

A very well written deep story game. No that good to fap, but a great game with cool characters. Good work, dev.

You are correct that those are the challenges to be solved. That could be a good plot how to overcome all those obstacles. For example, they could emigrate to a country which is more relaxed on all those things, like it was done in Sisterly Lust by Perveteer,

I believe they could find a solution. IRL people have all kinds of challenges and they deal with them (or not, if they are weak).

It is mostly a figure of speech. Quite romantic, if you ask me, though some people can have different opinions ;)

For me Haley's Story is the story of the modern Romeo and Juliette. The whole world is against their love but it doesn't mean that it has to have a bad ending.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

But yeah it feels like the dev could me more careful about solving some questions and loose ends
