Writing is probably the hardest part, especially when you're trying to craft an actual story where both it and the characters have a lot of depth and realism to them. With most adult games, the writing is very basic and the characters one-dimensional, but you can tell with this game that a lot of effort has gone in to revealing both the personalities and personal stories of each character through the dialogue, both in the way they speak and what they say. That kind of thing takes a lot of effort, probably moreso than creating the renders and coding the game, because the story and dialogue being written is really what defines this game, and if the writing doesn't work, well then you have characters and stories that don't work, and that can bring down the game if you don't make people connect with the characters because what you've written is either inconsistent or lacks depth.I do understand, but the " build up " is often use as an excuse to drag the game longer than it needs, because " build up " and simple dialogues are easier and less tiring to make than sex scenes. Sometimes, the build up isn't even great, it's just random dialogues and roaming system not even interesting, so yes, I agree with you, but no at the same time. There's plenty of games with story elements with things to do, NLT Media or Philly Games, just to name a few
In terms of "build-up", it's no different than in TV shows, particularly drama shows, where there might seem to be some extraneous moments and dialogue that don't seem important to the main plot, but it's all about character building; showing how characters behave in certain situations, how they interact with other characters and build relationships with them, and the way they speak about things reveals a lot about their personality and mannersisms. So it's all important, even if it doesn't seem like it.
