I don't follow the dev closely, but I do love this game.
Someone close to the Dev has died. The project is currently on hold.
I have seen this happen a few times on here in the past, these games seldom makes a comeback.
What's out there already is pretty good, but I would not hold my breath for the game to be resumed.
Writing an adult game takes a much lower priority then death in the family.

He announced it 21 October. A bit more then a month ago.
I got this email today:
"Hi everyone, I'm back. Update 1.80 is out. I wanted to release it earlier as I said last year, but it didn't feel right not to finish day 7. Kinda incomplete, so decided to just take my time and finish it. Aside from finishing day 7, I also change some elements of the ui. It is a work in progress, will be slowly updating it over time. Though I really like the simplistic default renpy UI, it isn't unique and makes the game generic.
Important: There is a choice added before going to sleep to proceed with scenes. If you're last save was after they slept on Day7, just rollback to get access to the new scenes.

Progression of story.
Changed main menu elements to better suit the theme of the overall story.
Changed screen elements, as with above.
Added Continue button on main menu which loads most recent saves, including auto saves.
F5 and F9 keys are bound to quick save and quick load respectively.
Change quick menu from default text buttons, to icons. Removed some redundant options as well.
Corrected typos, still a WIP.
Fix some minor bugs."

wonderful! Loved this game's story, happy to see it getting continued
Awesome news, I had assumed this was on hold. Nice little Saturday surprise.
Before anyone asks, compression request has already been submitted but it looks like there's a sizeable backlog of games to be compressed, so have a bit of patience and we should have a comp. version later on today (hopefully).

I seriously love this game, Been playing for a while also supported before.
The story telling is superb <3.

Did anyone else get an Antivir warning for the happenstance-32.exe?
Edit: It was a little bit strange, as Windows denied me deleting Happenstance-32.exe... I could delete everything else just fine, only this file said I need to have permissions to delete it.
At the end, I used my Anti Virus programm to delete it.
